Real Wheels: A ‘Hulke-like’ 1969 Camaro — Lima man’s 1969 Camaro SS is one green, mean machine

LIMA – It’s green.

Boy, is it green.

You could call it “Hulk-like” green.

That’s what grabs your attention when you see Bill Seffernick’s 1969 Camaro SS. Its “rally green” color certainly brings out the beast in what has become one of the most popular muscle cars to rule the roads of America.

Chevrolet produced a whopping 243,000 Camaros in 1969, which was the final year of its first generation.

“You see a lot of nice ‘69 Camaros at car shows today, but not a lot of them are this color green. It makes the car stand out among the ‘69 Camaros,” said the 62-year-old Lima man. His car was among the many on display at the Charity Car Show in late June.

Seffernick has owned his Camaro for 44 years, buying it off a high school friend when he was 17 years old.

It needed “a lot of rubbing and scrubbing … a new paint job … but other than that, it was in pretty good shape,” Seffernick said.

At one point Seffernick’s car was covered up in a garage for 10 years. Today, it only has 112,000 miles on it.
