COLUMBUS — The Ohio Public Works Commission has announced that over $331 million has been released for local government infrastructure projects throughout the state. This will include local impacts totaling more than $2.2 million for Allen County projects, just over $3.4 million for Auglaize County projects and more than $1.7 million in projects in Putnam County.
According to the OPWC, the projects are approved based on factors such as “health and safety, age and condition and number of users,” according to a release from the commission. The $331 million allocation will cover 600 projects throughout the state.
The largest share of the projects center around roads ($206.5 million), followed by water supply infrastructure ($54.2 million), wastewater infrastructure ($34 million), bridges and culverts ($27.2 million) and stormwater ($9.2 million), according to the OPWC release and can be distributed as grants or loans.
Local projects included in this allocation, according to information provided by the OPWC, are:
ALLEN COUNTY
• Allen County: Old Delphos, Kolter, Bentley, Et Al Resurfacing — $983,428
• City of Delphos: 7th Street Resurfacing — $148,000
• City of Lima: Bradfield, Hubbard, W. 5th, Et Al Resurfacing — $665,000
• Village of Bluffton: Geiger Street Water Replacement — $117,065
• Village of Bluffton: Garau Street Water Replacement — $108,329
• Village of Spencerville: 2023 Street Maintenance Project — $228,138
AUGLAIZE COUNTY
• City of St. Marys: East Spring Street Reconstruction Phase II — $385,000
• City of Wapakoneta: Water Street Reconstruction — $430,000
• Village of New Bremen: Park Street, Eastmoor Drive, and Plum Street Reconstruction — $1,589,744
