Lima man dies after rollover crash near State Route 81

LIMA – According to a press release, the Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single vehicle rollover crash that occurred on Grubb Road North, near State Route 81.

At 7:17 p.m. Sunday, troopers received a report of a rollover crash involving one vehicle. Joshua S. Fowler, 33, of Lima was traveling northbound on Grubb Road North. He lifted off the ground when crossing the intersection of State Route 81, lost control, traveled off the left side of the roadway, and overturned multiple times before coming to a final rest.

Fowler was ejected from the vehicle and transported to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center by American Township EMS. Fowler died Monday at the hospital. He was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt and alcohol is suspected to be a factor in this crash.

Assisting troopers on scene include American Township EMS, American Township Fire Department, Knippen Towing, and the Allen County Sheriff’s Office. The crash remains under investigation.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reminds motorists to designate a sober driver and to always wear a properly adjusted safety belt.
