LACRPC selects new executive director

LIMA — The Lima/Allen County Regional Planning Commission has named Tara Reynolds-Bales as its new executive director. Reynolds-Bales is a Lima/Allen County native who jumped at the chance to return home and serve her community. For the past two decades, she resided in Pittsburgh at the beginning of her career. Reynolds-Bales said in a press release she began to see ‘clearly’ what made Lima/Allen County a great place to reside and serve.

”I am so proud to be from Lima and Allen County,” said Reynolds-Bales. “When given the opportunity to come and represent a great organization I jumped. This is a great area. We have a lot of wonderful work to do to move the county and the city in the right direction. I am so happy to be a part of this.”

According to a recent press release, Reynolds-Bales previously served as the Regional Director of the Ohio Education Association. The executive director lives in the area with her husband, children and beloved dogs.

“Moving back, I’ve been gone for about 20 years,” said Reynolds-Bales. “I am so happy to be back. Coming back and seeing the energy and synergy that is happening here. The regional planning commission is a part of that. My plan is to work with all the stakeholders in the county and the city to move this region forward where it deserves to be.”

Reynolds-Bales weighed in on the work the LACRPC organization does for the community.

“Anywhere your tires hit in the county is where the commission is doing work,” said Reynolds-Bales. “It could be through traffic, zoning, subdivision anywhere that you drive through in the area is the work we are doing. It could be anything impacting our economic development, roadways, and traffic studies.”

For more information, Reynolds-Bales invited community members to attend LACRPC’s open house from 2-6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15 at LACRPC, 130 W. North St.

The organization plans to share its transportation improvement plan or ‘TIP’ for the next four years.
