Logoplaste doubles in expansion

LIMA — The expansion of one company is making room for new employment in the region. Allen County Commissioners approved a resolution for Allen County to enter into an enterprise Zone Agreement with Logoplaste Lima LLC on Tuesday morning for the company’s new project. The $10 million investment will add 10 new jobs to the company and almost double the organization in size.

According to a previous article from The Lima News, the international company opened its doors to Lima in 2020 after discovering it was the best location for its original expansion.

“Their first project was a 100,000-square-foot project committing to 51 new jobs,” said Cynthia Leis, director of business development at Allen Economic Development Group. “The tax abatement at that time was 75% for 10 years. Fast forward and business has increased for them and now they are planning a second expansion.”

The organization was approved for an abatement with the City of Lima and Perry Township.

According to the City of Lima’s communications letter regarding Logoplaste, the organization submitted an application for an abatement of 75% of the increased property for the remaining eight years.

“It is an expansion,” said Plant Manager for Lima Logoplaste Anthony Klopfenstein. “It is a continuation of the first project that we initially did. We are looking to bring 10 more jobs. It is 135,000 square feet.”

After a short delay, Logoplaste is eager to get back on track. The resolution that was set to be approved last week was tabled due to clerical edits, according to the company’s real estate representative, Jason Lake.

Now, the project is in progress. According to Klopfenstein, the organization plans to break ground next week and the project should be complete in eight months.

“We appreciate the investment and continued investment to the property,” Allen County Commissioner Cory Noonan said at last week’s agenda meeting.
