Up-and-coming band Indré to play The Lab

LIMA — Another artist on the rise is coming to Lima.

Indré, fronted by Akron-based singer-songwriter Maddie Indré, will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at The Lab and it could be just the start for the band.

“We tour all around and we’ve never been to Lima before,” said Indré. “The Lab looks like a really fun venue, and we’ve got new music and we’re just really excited to hit the road this year. It’s kind of the beginning of a bunch of out-of-town dates for us. So we’re really excited and it seems like a really fun community.”

For the do-it-yourself indie pop-rock band, the experience alone is more than worth it.

“We always have the best time playing to new communities, new crowds and meeting new people,” said Indré. “It’s just really fun for us and it’s great for the band to travel as often as possible and widen our reach organically.”

It was this attitude that motivated The Lab to reach out to the band.

“I knew that I had to get Indré to Lima after listening to their music,” said Marc Bowker, owner of Live at The Lab, in a statement. “Their alt-pop sound and relatable lyrics are perfect for the intimate listening room setting of The Lab.”

And Indré said that the crowd can look forward to a fun night for their part when they come to town.

“The songs are super energetic and we put a lot of emphasis on the songwriting so they can almost be stripped down and be folk songs or spoken word poems,” she said. “But we end up with that pop-rock energy and so I think there’s something for everyone no matter what you like, to enjoy our show. It’s just a fun time to party.”

Indré hopes to parlay that reputation into something long-term.

“I want them to want to come back,” she said. “I want them to come back and see us again to make connections and friendships. We like when people come back to the shows, so I think that’s always the goal.”

Indré was named one of Tuned Up’s Ohio Bands to Watch for 2023.

Fans can stream the band’s music on most platforms including Spotify. Watch the band’s award-winning videos, choreographed by Indré herself on Youtube and follow the band on Facebook, TikTok and Instagram, as well as their website, indremusic.com.
