Bath Schools approve replacement tax levy measure

BATH TOWNSHIP — The Bath Local Schools Board of Education passed a resolution to place a continuing school levy of the May 2, 2023 ballot.

At its meeting on December 20, 2022, the Bath School Board determined that a levy was necessary in an minimum amount of $3,725,182 per year for a continuing period of time.

The county auditor certified that the total current tax valuation of the district is $331,025,870 and that the estimated average annual levy required to produce this amount is 11.258 mills for each one dollar of taxable value, which amounts to $393.89 for each $100,000 of the county auditor’s appraised value.

If the levy is passed, an emergency levy will come off the books.

In other business, the board accepted a proposal from Cotterman and Company, Inc. for a portion of the high school roof removal and installation, at a total estimated cost of $210,000, to be paid out of permanent improvement funds.

They also approved the purchase, delivery and installation of twelve Rover tables for the middle school at a total cost of $67,102.20, to be paid with ESSER ESC Equipment grant funds.

The next Bath School Board meeting will be Tuesday February 21, 2023 at 7:00 p.m.
