Haehn’s Simply Brewed feeds both body and soul

Delphos — When you feed a man’s stomach then you can feed his soul. This is what happens at Haehn’s Simply Brewed at 212 N. Main St. in Delphos on the second and fourth Monday of the month.

At 6 p.m. the food is served. Those in attendance eat and converse. Enjoying the company of others is a key point. Attendees share a meal together, then someone tells a five-minute Jesus story.

Dan Haehn said, “We are trying to create an atmosphere that is a non-traditional church setting that people can walk into here feeling the love of Jesus, providing an environment that is non-judgmental. We’re not creating anything new. This is what Jesus did.”

The church around a table has existed for more than 2000 years. Jesus used to break bread and share stories with all sorts of people.

Dinner church is spreading around the area. There is one in Gomer at the township hall on Thursdays and one in Ada.

Dinner church is a movement that brings all kinds of people together. It brings strangers together, allowing the presence of Jesus to join them as neighbors and friends, ushering them into the family of God.
