Roundup: Pandora-Gilboa edges Delphos St. John’s in boys basketball

DELPHOS — Pandora-Gilboa recovered from a 21-16 halftime deficit for a 51-49 boys high school basketball victory Saturday against Delphos St. John’s.

Aiden Harris (11), Derek Maag (10) and Jake Maag (10) each scored in double digits for P-G. Cameron Elwer had 19 points Landen Grothaus scored 12 for DSJ.

Carey 47, Bluffton 43

BLUFFTON — Landen Worchester had 10 points and Wade Ginther and Terron Boblitt each scored nine for the host Pirates.

Van Wert 68, Bryan 44

VAN WERT — Aidan Pratt had 19 points and Garrett Gunther scored 10 for the host Cougars.

Lions Invitational

WAPAKONETA — Wapakoneta won the boys and combined titles.

The Wapak boys had 263 points with Shawnee (205) finishing second. The Redskins had 431 combined total with Ottawa-Glandorf (399.5) finishing second.

The Wapakoneta 200 medley relay team of Owen Becker, Ross Honigford, Aidan Schneider and Luke Wierwille, the 200 freestyle relay team of Gannon Casebolt, Julian Jordan, Becker and Alex Honigford and the 400 freestyle relay team of Casebolt, Isaiah Wachauf, Wierwille and Alex Honigford all finished first.

Alex Honigford also won the 200 IM and 100 freestyle and Wierwille and Ross Honigford were first in the 100 breaststroke and 50 freestyle respectively.

Van Wert’s Sam Houg (200 freestyle) and (100 butterfly) 54.64, Celina’s Jackson Newcomb (500 freestyle) and Bluffton’s Riley Verb (100 backstroke) were also individual winners.

In the girls competition, Ottawa-Glandorf (256.5) was first and Bluffton (192) was second.

Shawnee’s Morgan Schimmoeller, Ansley Newman, Addisyn Newman and Kayla Frost teamed up to win the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay.

Celina’s Brooklyn Bourne (100 and 200 freestyles) and Botkins’ Bella Bucio (100 backstroke and 500 freestyle) were each double winners.

Addisyn Newman (100 breaststroke), Ottawa-Glandorf’s Marissa Beckett (200 IM) and Taylor Knott (100 butterfly) and Bluffton’s Jenna Downey (50 Freestyle) each won an individual event.

Wapakoneta’s Adyson Krouse, Kya Sutton, Lucia Ferreira Rodriguez and Callie Sutton won the 400 freestyle relay.

COLDWATER — St. Marys fell 43-24 to Liberty Center in the first-place match. Van Wert was fifth, Coldwater was seventh and Columbus Grove finished ninth.
