OVI checkpoint set on 81 in Allen County, 198 in Auglaize County

LIMA — A pair of OVI checkpoints have been announced by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

An OVI checkpoint will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today on state Route 81 near milepost 19 in Allen County.

Another OVI checkpoint will be held from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. today on state Route 198 in Auglaize County.

The checkpoint, funded by federal grant funds, is intended to deter and intercept impaired drivers. There will also be “saturation patrols” nearby to combat problems. Authorities remind people to designate a driver or make other travel arrangements before drinking alcohol.
