Jerry Lucas is Lima Rotary’s guest speaker on Monday

LIMA — Former Ohio State University and NBA basketball star Jerry Lucas will be the guest speaker at the noon meeting of the Lima Rotary Club on Monday, Sept. 13. The club meets in the North Hall of the Veterans Memorial Civic & Convention Center, 7 Town Square, Lima.

Lucas led the Ohio State Buckeyes to three straight NCAA finals (1960-1962), winning the national championship in 1960. He is the only three-time Big Ten Basketball Player of the Year.

As a professional, Lucas was named All-NBA First Team three times, All-NBA Second Team twice, an NBA All-Star seven times and was the 1964 NBA Rookie of the Year.

He was inducted to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1980.
