Girls basketball: Perry wins NWCC; Crestview gets share of NWC

Perry won the outright Northwest Central Conference girls basketball championship with a 39-24 win over Ridgedale on Thursday night.

Perry (15-6 overall, 7-1 NWCC) was led by LeLe Luster with 17 points. Ridgedale finished the regular season 12-10 and 5-3 in the NWCC.

Spencerville 60, Ada 28

Heidi Keller scored 18 points and Clara Goecke had 12 points for the Bearcats (12-10 overall, 3-5 NWC). Olivia Burkhart’s 10 points led Ada (9-13 overall, 0-8 NWC).

Crestview 62, Lincolnview 33

Crestview earned a share of the Northwest Conference championship along with Delphos Jefferson with its victory.

Cali Gregory scored 23 points and had five steals to lead Crestview (20-2, 7-1 NWC). Kaci Gregory had 12 points and six assists and Ellie Kline scored 10 points.

Kenton 74, Shawnee 60

Macee Heckathorn and Sid Payne each scored 22 points for the Wildcats as they wrapped up an 11-11 regular season, including a 5-4 record in the Western Buckeye League. Sadie Larrabee added 18 points.

Grace Freiberger led Shawnee (8-13, 4-5 WBL) with 27 points and Kamryn Morris and Morgan Betts both scored 12 points.

Leipsic 46, Cory-Rawson 26

Leipsic improved to 10-12 overall with its non-league win. Ava Henry scored 16 points and Leah Kirkendall scored 12 for the Vikings, who had a 35-18 rebounding edge, led by Kylee Schroeder with eight.

Chelcie McVetta scored 10 points for Cory-Rawson.

Waynesfield-Goshen 54, Ridgemont 43

The Tigers completed the regular season with a win over Ridgemont that raised their overall record to 11-11 and their Northwest Central Conference record to 6-2.

Raegan Hutchison had 20 points and 15 rebounds for Waynesfield-Goshen. Tatelyn Faraglia scored 15 points and got 10 rebounds and Makenna Shaw also hit double figures in points and rebounds with 12 and 10.

Ridgemont (4-17 overall, 3-5 NWCC) was led by Jayda Dondrea with 16 points.

Minster 43, New Bremen 35

Anna Larger and Kayla Lamm scored 10 points for Minster (16-5, 7-2 MAC). Michaela Firks’ 13 points led New Bremen (10-12, 4-5 MAC).

Coldwater 59, Delphos St. John’s 30

Coldwater sprinted out to a 19-0 lead by the end of the first quarter and was in control the rest of the game.

Claire Steinke had 16 points, seven rebounds and three blocks. Mia Knapke scored 14 points. Madison Wendel had 11 points and eight rebounds and Becca Wenning had eight points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals.

Fort Recovery 46, New Knoxville 29

Avery Albers scored 10 points for the Rangers.

Kenton going to district

Kenton qualified for district competition by finishing fourth in the Fostoria sectional.

The Wildcats had a total pin count of 3,531, led by Spencer Anglemeyer’s 544 series (210-174-160). Sam Taylor had a 517 (193-156-168) and Joel Bowman finished at 514 (160-173-181). Adam Hopkins had a 467 (144-171-152) and Eban Albert’s 458 (141-140-177) completed the scoring.
