Lima Central Catholic, Elida, Delphos St. John’s and Ottawa-Glandorf received No. 1 seeds when boys basketball tournament brackets were announced on Sunday.
LCC is the No. 1 seed in the Division IV Wapakoneta district. Elida got the top seed in the Division II Liberty-Benton district. Ottawa-Glandorf is the No. 1 seed in the Lima Senior Division III district and St. John’s got that designation in the Division IV district at the Elida Fieldhouse.
Elida, O-G and St. John’s all have first-round byes. LCC will play a first-round game against Ada.
Lima Senior was seeded eighth in the Division I Lake district and will play at home against No. 19 seed Mansfield Madison in the first round.
Shawnee is the No. 3 seed in the Division II Liberty-Benton district and has a bye in the first round. Bath is the No. 11 seed in that district and opens with a game against No. 5 seed Napoleon. Temple Christian, a No. 10 seed, will play at No. 8 seed Perry in its opener.
Spencerville got the No. 2 seed in the Division III Lima Senior district and has a first-round bye. Pandora-Gilboa got the No.2 seed in the Division IV Elida district and also has a first-round bye.
Teams were seeded by a formula created by MaxPreps for the first time this year.
The first two rounds of this year’s tournament will be played at the gym of the team with the better seed in the match-up.
