Leipsic survives big comeback by Continental

Leipsic built a 22-point lead in the first half but Continental came almost all the way back in the second half before the Vikings held on for a 61-59 win boys basketball on Tuesday night.

Jayce Brent scored 25 points for Leipsic (5-3, 1-2 Putnam County League). Ty Lammers scored 15 points and Nick Schoreder had 10 points.

Jonathan Etter’s 21 points led Continental (1-9, 0-1 PCL). He hit five 3-pointers. Monty Rayle had 18 points, including four 3-pointers. Carson Etter scored 11 points.

Ottoville 54, Columbus Grove 49

Ottoville won for the eighth time in 10 games when it beat Columbus Grove, led by Michael Turnwald with 15 points.

Keaton Schnipke scored 12 points and Landon Horstman had 11 points for the Big Green (8-2, 1-0 Putnam County League) at the L.W. Heckman gym. Bo Birnesser and Landon Best scored 14 points for Columbus Grove (4-2, 0-1 PCL).

Ada 60, Arcadia 40

The Bulldogs got their second win of the season, led by Zack Zimmerman with 14 points.

Kolton Dysert (13 points), Kayleb Hickman (11 points) and Slade Gossman (10 points) gave the Bulldogs (2-7) four double figures scorers.

Lima Senior won its seventh match in a row. Peyton Rader led the way for the Spartans with games of 257 and 200.

Yahir Brito Diazz had games of 198 and 175. Antoine Cowan rolled games of 180 and 162, Cooper Twining recorded a 164 and a 138 and Brady Wright had a 171 game.

For Delphos Jefferson, Tyler Wilkins had a 185 and a 208 and Blake Wagner rolled a 180 and a 140.

Girls Basketball

Waynesfield-Goshen 53, Indian Lake 50

Tatelyn Faraglia scored 26 points and had 15 rebounds for Waynesfield-Goshen (4-4, 2-0 Northwest Central Conference). Taryn Vorhes added 9 points for the Tigers, who played without starting post player Raegan Hutchison.

MacKenzie Dixon’s 14 points led Indian Lake and Kennedy Schwaderer scored 10 points.

Shawnee’s Olivia Miller had the two highest games in the match with a 243 and a 211. Kylie Larimore had a 170 and a 180, Kallie McKinley rolled a 143 and a 203, Elena Meeker had a 124 and a 187 and Triniti Frueh had a 163 and a 160.

For Celina, Piper Gilliland led the scoring with a 189 and a 191 and Ryann Eckhardt had a 191 and a 185.
