GREEN BAY, Wis. — Shawnee graduate Ryan Downard, the defensive backs coach for the Green Bay Packers, recently was mentioned by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero as a young NFL coach to watch because of his potential to be a future head coach.
Downward, 35, who played defensive back at Eastern Michigan, coached at Toledo, Texas Tech and Bowling Green in the college ranks before moving to the pros with the Cleveland Browns as an assistant in 2015.
