Ohio college basketball roundup: Bowling Green knocks off Arkansas State

BOWLING GREEN — Led by Marcus Hill’s 26 points, the Bowling Green Falcons defeated the Arkansas State Red Wolves 81-75 on Saturday. The Falcons are now 2-0 on the season, while the Red Wolves dropped to 0-2.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) — Marcus Hill had 26 points in Bowling Green’s 81-75 win over Arkansas State on Saturday.

Hill had five rebounds for the Falcons (2-0). DaJion Humphrey scored 22 points while going 8 of 11 (4 for 6 from 3-point range).

Taryn Todd led the Red Wolves (0-2) in scoring, finishing with 31 points and seven assists. Freddy Hicks added 12 points for Arkansas State. Dyondre Dominguez also had 11 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks.

Both teams play on Tuesday. Bowling Green visits Oakland and Arkansas State hosts Alcorn State.

Texas State 75, Miami (OH) 65

OXFORD — Tyler Morgan had 19 points in Texas State’s victory against Miami.

Morgan added eight rebounds for the Bobcats (1-1). Kaden Gumbs scored 14 points while shooting 6 for 12, including 1 for 3 from beyond the arc. Brandon Love shot 5 of 11 from the field and 3 for 8 from the line to finish with 13 points.

Darweshi Hunter led the way for the RedHawks (0-2) with 21 points. Jaquel Morris added 12 points, eight rebounds and two blocks for Miami (OH). Mekhi Cooper also put up 11 points.

Texas State next plays Tuesday against Oklahoma on the road, and Miami (OH) will host Coppin State on Friday.
