ADA — The third-seeded Ohio Northern women’s soccer team got a 1-0 victory over sixth-seeded Wilmington on the snowy Kerscher Stadium turf in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinals on Tuesday night. With the win, the Polar Bears advance to Thursday’s tournament semifinals at second-seeded Otterbein.
Alyssa Beckett scored the lone goal of the game in the 14th minute, heading the ball into the back of the net on a corner kick assist from Emma Bowman.
Morgan Moeller played all 90 minutes in goal for ONU and recorded three saves in her sixth career shutout.
Ohio Northern out-shot Wilmington 13-7 and had a 4-1 edge in corner kicks.
