High school roundup: Miller City assured share of Putnam County League girls soccer crown

Miller City earned at least a share of the Putnam County League girls soccer championship with a 6-0 victory Tuesday against Fort Jennings.

Danica Ehlers had three goals, Ava Ruck had a goal and two assists, Anna Niese had two goals, Hailey Warnimont had two assists and Scarlett King had one assist.

Lima Senior 2, Sandusky 0

Ava Sheeter and Angela Fronzaglia each had a goal and an assist. Allison Fronzaglia got the shutout in goal.

Columbus Grove 2, Bluffton 2

Lauryn Auchmuty had a goal and an assist, Ruth Myers had a goal and Erianne Heffner had an assist for Grove.

Aubrey Burkholder and Blair Utendorf each had a goal and an assist for Bluffton.

Bluffton’s Kynzie Ewing had two saves and Grove’s Erianne Heffner had seven.

Bath 1, Wapakoneta 0

Anna Rasor had the match’s lone goal on an assist by Marlie Mason. Carmen Kunkleman had three saves in securing the shutout in goal. Wapak counterpart Maddison Springer had seven saves.

Elida 3, St. Marys 3

Lexie Good had all three Elida goals.

Ottawa-Glandorf 3, Shawnee 0

Bri Douglass had a goal and an assist, Makenna Siefker and Delaney Duling each had a goal and Liv Grothause had two assists. Karsyn Erford had three saves to earn the shutout in goal.

Braxton Stegbauer and Collin Davis each had a goal, Bain Stegbauer had an assist and Jayden Pitney had a pair of saves for Continental.

Logan Kerner and Braylon Smith each had two goals, Caden Looser had a single tally and Smith, Jacob Siebeneck and Landon Verhoff each had an assist for Kalida.

Division I sectional

FINDLAY — Shawnee and Wapakoneta advanced to districts with second and third place finishes respectively during Tuesday’s Division I boys golf sectional at par 71 Sycamore Springs.

Shawnee (345 team total) and Wapakoneta (349) finished behind Findlay (328). Tiffin Columbian (351) and Lexington (352) also advanced.

Seth Grieshop (80), Matthew Stiles (83), Evan Jackson (90) and Matthew Owen (92) contributed to Shawnee’s total.

Zac Niekamp (81), Logan Lee (82), Peyton Young (93) and Preston Hinkle (93) had scores used for Wapak’s result.

Celina’s Nick Steinbrunner (81) and Lennon Cisco (82) also advanced individually.

Gavin Pearson (100) and Cayden Hirsch (109) also posted scores toward Celina’s ninth place 372 score.

Keegon Bullock (92), Doug Noble (96), Griffin Burton (97) and Aiden Musil (103) combined for Elida’s 388 10th place total.

Lima Senior’s Blake Hahn (123) and Eliezer Bermudez-Rivera (128) played individually.

Laila Sites had 15 kills, including the 500th of her career, three aces and 22 digs, Abby Kerner had eight kills and 14 digs, Avery Altenburger had 16 digs and Grace Moenter had 23 assists for DSJ.
