DELPHOS — Delphos Jefferson claimed the team title at Thursday’s Northwest Conference boy golf tournament with a 348 total at par 71 Delphos Country Club.
Allen East won a fifth-score tiebreaker against Leipsic to finish second and claim the overall conference title, after each finished with a 353 total. Crestview, led by medalist Mathew Dealey’s 74, finished fourth at 356 followed by Spencerville (361), Columbus Grove (365), Lincolnview (357), Bluffton (388) and Ada (418).
Leipsic’s Brevin Brandt finished second individually with a 76 and Jefferson’s Isaac Gallmeier and Allen East’s Levi Clum tied for third with 77s.
Spencerville’s Michael Woods (81), Columbus Grove’s Gage Sautter (85), Lincolnview’s Luke Bollenbacher (86), Ada’s Jack Baumgartner (90) and Bluffton’s Evan Speicher and Preston Laytart (92 each) had the scores for their respective schools.
Jefferson and Leipsic tied for second in the overall standings followed by Crestview, Lincolnview, Columbus Grove, Spencerville, Bluffton and Ada.
Dealey earned player of the year honors and was joined on the first team Brandt, Gallmeier, Clum, Woods, Sautter and Leipsic’s Nick Schroeder.
Second team recognition went to Donovan Kennedy (Allen East), Speicher, Bollenbacher, Dalton Hyman (Columbus Grove), Aiden Hardesty (Lincolnview) and Baumgartner.
Honorable mention recipients were Troy Pseekos (Delphos Jefferson), Logan Schlemmer (Crestview), Brady DuVall (Delphos Jefferson), Owen Sensabaugh, (Spencerville), Brady Brooks (Allen East), Evan Sautter (Columbus Grove), Cooper Chapman (Spencerville), Jared Jessee (Lincolnview), Nick Evans (Lincolnview), Ryan Hardeman (Columbus Grove), Mason Wiltsie (Delphos Jefferson) and Trey Skelton (Crestview).
Coach of the year honors went to Jefferson’s Shane Gallmeier.
