Roundup: Fort Loramie joins NWC for football only

The Fort Loramie Board of Education voted Monday night to be a football only member of the Northwest Conference beginning in 2024.

Last week it announced that Lima Central Catholic will become a full member of the conference starting in the 2024-25 school year.

Division VII Marion Local remains ranked No. 1 in the latest Ohio High School Football poll. Minter is No. 10 and Leipsic is ranked 13th.

Coldwater is second in D-V and Celina is 16th in D-III.

Delphos Jefferson’s Isaac Gallmeier was medalist with a 36. Crestview’s Mathew Dealey (38) and Spencerville’s Michael Woods (44) had the low rounds for their respective schools.

Medalist Ben Giere (35), Tyler Overman (41) and Braxton Howell (42) contributed to the winning team total with teammates Zach Diller and Drew Eyink each posting 47s. Zachary Niekamp led Wapakoneta with a 40.

DELPHOS — Jefferson (227) had the low team total against Ottoville (231) and Bath (264) at par 35 Delphos Country Club.

Ariel Wallace (51), Caitlin Jettinghoff (58), Zada Grogg (58) and Avery Eickholt (60) combined for the winning total. Ottoville’s Lexie Honigford was medalist with a 45 and Aubrey Gerten led Bath with a 57.

Lauryn Auchmuty had two goals and two assists, Ruth Myers had a goal, Ella Dotson had two goals and an assist and Payton Hoorman and Devanie Pingle had one assist each for the Bulldogs. Erianne Heffner had six saves for CG.

The Knights, ranked No. 3 in Division IV Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association poll, won 25-18, 25-18, 25-22 against the No. 6 ranked D-III Indians.
