Roundup: Van Wert’s Parker finishes with 9 TDs in win against Bath

Van Wert 64, Lima Bath 42

VAN WERT — Brylen Parker ran for five touchdowns and had two TD passes each to Conner Campbell and Reese Krugh.

Parker completed 16 of 21 pass attempts for 366 yards and rushed 24 times for 215 yards.

Campbell finished with 10 receptions for 166 yards and Krugh had three catches for 114 yards.

For Bath, Mikey Hale had 24 carries for 220 yards, Zach Welsch, who had three TD runs, completed 22 of 25 pass attempts for 284 yards and had a TD throw to Ethan Cole, who had five receptions for 153 yards. Keaton Vernon and Skylar Lhamon each had a TD run also for the Wildcats.

The Cougars improved to 2-o overall and 1-0 in the WBL while Bath fell to 1-1 and 0-1 in the league.

Celina 37, St. Marys 15

CELINA — Braylon Gabes had 140 yards rushing on 14 carries and scored three touchdowns as Celina defeated St. Marys for the first time since 2015.

Gabes also threw a touchdown pass to Nick Newell. Bobby Morris completed nine of 10 pass attempts for 80 yards and had a TD throw to Zander Jones. Zach Grebrer connected on a 22-yard field goal attempt also for the Bulldogs.

Colton Mabry had 12 carries for 119 yards and a pair of TDs for St. Marys.

The Bulldogs improved to 1-1 by winning their Western Buckeye League opener while the Roughriders fell to 0-2.

Allen East 28, Arlington 3

HARROD — Jackson Thompson, who had 90 yards on 18 carries, had a TD run and a 58 yard touchdown pass to Braelyn Schultz. Jack Hoel and Jacob Pinks also had TD runs

The Mustangs improved to 1-1 on the season while Arlington dropped to 1-1.

Coldwater 28, Bellefontaine 25

COLDWATER — Baylen Blockberger completed 12 of 24 pass attempts for 216 yards and had three TD throws for the host Cavaliers. Teammate Braylen Harlamert had an 80-yard TD strike to Ethan Elander, who finished with two receptions for 96 yards. AJ Harlamert had three receptions for 73 yards and a pair of scores also for the Cavs.

Coldwater improved to 2-0 on the season while Bellefontaine fell to 1-1.

Kenton 52, Ottawa-Glandorf 29

KENTON — The Wildcats improved to 1-1 overall and 2-0 in the WBL while O-G fell to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in league games.

Defiance 16, Wapakoneta 13

DEFIANCE — Ryan Richardson caught a 14-yard pass from Caleb Moyer and Kyle Beach connected on field goal attempts of 27 and 37 yards as well as an extra point for Wapakoneta.

The Redskins fell to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the WBL while Bulldogs improved to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the WBL.

Upper Scioto Valley 56, Cory-Rawson 14

RAWSON — For USV, Alex Sanders had 177 yards rushing and a touchdown on 18 carries, Maddox Underwood had six carries for 92 yards and three touchdowns, Ryan Roberts had eight carries for 83 yards and a TD, DJ Little had five carries for 106 yard and two TDs and Andrue Kindle had an 18 yard TD reception.

USV improved to 1-1 by winning its NWCC opener while Cory-Rawson fell to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

MARIA STEIN — Jace Knouff, who ran for a TD, completed 11 of 13 pass attempts for 135 yards and three TDS. Teammate Brayden Mescher completed three of five pass attempts for 75 yards and a pair of TDs.

Victor Hoelscher had six catches for 76 yards and a pair of touchdowns and teammates Daniel Everman, Brayden Pavelka and Kamden Eifert each had a TD catch. Parker Hess had a pair of touchdown runs.

Marion Local improved to 2-0 on the season while Franklin fell to 0-2

Hardin Northern 49, North Baltimore 21

DOLA — Carter Curtis had five carries for 179 yards and three touchdowns for Hardin Northern. Teammate Nolan Hopson had three carries for 88 yards and TD. He also completed a 79 touchdown pass to Alexander Wilson, who also had a 55-yard TD run. Bodi Hipsher had a touchdown run also for Hardin Northern, which improved to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in the NWCC while Northern Baltimore fell to 1-1 overall and o-1 in the conference.

Columbus Grove 24, Liberty-Benton 14

COLUMBUS GROVE — Landon Best completed seven of 10 pass attempts for 141 yards and had TD throws to Zane Stechschulte and Treveon Best. Teammate Trenton Barraza had 21 carries for 119 yards and a touchdown. Evan Verhoff connected on a 28 yard field goal and converted three extra point attempts.

The Bulldogs improved to 1-1 on the season while Liberty-Benton fell to 1-1.

PERRY TOWNSHIP — Mason Howard had 16 carries for 244 yards and three touchdowns to go with a 65 yard TD reception from Connor Manns. Xavier Stuck had nine carries for 127 yards, Jevin Henderson had 10 carries for 119 yards and a pair of TDs and Clayton Patterson had three carries for 37 yards and a touchdown also for Ridgemont.

Hunter Scott completed 15 of 32 pass attempts for 191 yards and three TDs, two to Jason Thomas and another Mason Hadding for Perry. Teammate Isaiah McFadden had a TD run.

Ridgemont is now 1-1 overall and 1-0 in the NWCC while Perry fell to 0-2 on the season and 0-1 in the NWCC

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Jalee Bolden had 21 carries for 187 yards and three touchdowns and Levi Green had 15 carries for 103 yards and a touchdown for Ada.

The Bulldogs and Riverdale are now both 1-1 on the season.

Ayersville 42, Delphos Jefferson 26

DELPHOS — Dean Trentman had 16 carries for 148 yards and three TDs for Jefferson. Teammate Luke Rode had a 7-yard touchdown pass to Xach Houx.

WAYNESFIELD — W-G improved to 2-0 overall after winning its Northwest Central Conference opener while Crestline fell to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

PIONEER — Fletcher Smith completed 20 0f 32 pass attempts for 308 yards and TD throws to Caiden Berry, who had five receptions for 100 yards, Landon Younker, who had five receptions for 84 yards, and Devon Crouch, who had six catches for 55 yards.

Smith also had 17 carries for 130 yards and two TDs. Teammate Landon Harmick also had a touchdown run.
