Roundup: Ottoville finishes 2nd at boys golf invitational

OTTAWA — Ottoville finished second Monday at the Patriot Invitational boys golf tournament held at par 71 Pike Run Golf Club.

The Big Green tied Liberty-Benton and Napoleon at 314. Liberty-Benton and Ottoville tied for the lowest fifth score, eliminating Napoleon. Liberty-Benton defeated Ottoville in a playoff.

Evan Altenburger led Ottoville with a 75 to tie for the sixth-lowest score followed by teammate Keaton Schnipke (76) in ninth. Michael Turnwald (81), Jace Langhals (82) and Blake Kortokrax (82) also competed for Ottoville.

St. Marys (328), Bath (329) and Kalida (333) were fourth through sixth respectively. Miller City (343) was eighth, Leipsic (349) was 10th, Columbus Grove (357) was 12th and Pandora-Gilboa (359) was 15th.

Leipsic’s Brevin Brandt (71) and Kalida’s Connor Nartker (72) were second and third individually behind medalist Noah Huard (67) from Bryan. St. Marys’ Brennan Steger (74) also made the all-tournament team with a fifth-place finish by virtue of a scorecard playoff.

Bath’s Braden Binkley (78), Columbus Grove’s Gage Sautter (81), Miller City’s Andrew Weis (81) and Pandora-Gilboa’s Owen Huffman (84) had the low rounds for their respective schools.

Delphos St. John’s 160, New Knoxville 254

DELPHOS — Medalist Tyce McClain (35), Collin Feathers (38) and Parker Will (42) led the way for DSJ at par 35 Delphos Country Club. Jackson Kill and Ashton Milligan each shot 45 also for the Blue Jays. John Gabel led New Knoxville with a 53.

Fort Recovery 167, Parkway 203

PORTLAND, Ind. — Medalist Alex Dues (40), Keegan Muhlenkamp (41), Nate Jutte (42) and Reece LeFevre (44) combined for the winning total at par 35 Portland Golf Course. Mason Schumm led Parkway with a 49.

Coldwater 156, St. Henry 184

Ben Giere, Tyler Overman, Braxton Howell and Oliver Vickery each shot 39 for Coldwater. No St. Henry individual scores were reported.

MINSTER — Medalist Ashlyn Homan 40, Kendyl Bergman 48, Lauren Heitkamp 50 and Star Weigandt 53 combined for the winning total at par 36 Arrowhead Golf Club. Anna Hemmelgarn led Marion Local with a 60.

St. Henry 238, Coldwater 260

St. Henry’s Lindsay Grieshop was medalist with a 57. St. Henry’s other individual results were not reported. Madison Bruns led Coldwater with a 63.
