Locos split doubleheader with Michigan

HOWELL, Mich. — The Lima Locos split a Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League doubleheader Thursday with the Michigan Monarchs.

The Locos fell 5-3 in the opener. Landon Underhill and Kyle Ashworth each had two hits and Caleb Herd had a hit and an RBI for Lima.

The Locos bounced back with a 6-4 victory. Ashworth had a double and three RBI, Anthony Zarlingo had two hits and Hudson Parker and Connor Ashby each had a hit and an RBI for the Locos. M Takac allowed no hits or walks while striking out three in three innings of relief for Lima.

The Locos return to Simmons Field for a 7:05 p.m. Friday game against the Royal Oak Leprechauns.
