EUGENE, Ore. — Bluffton graduate Trevor Bassitt secured a spot on Team USA for the World Athletics Championships with a third-place finish Sunday in the 400-meter hurdles at the USATF Outdoor Championships
Bassitt, ranked No. 6 in the world in the event by World Athletics, finished in a season-best time of 48.26 seconds behind Rai Benjamin (46.62) and CJ Allen (48.18).
The World Athletics Championships will be held Aug. 19-27 in Budapest, Hungary.
