Roundup: Fort Jennings duo combine for perfect game

FORT JENNINGS — Winning pitcher Bryce Gasser and Eli Brown combined to allow no hits or walks in facing the minimum 15 batters during a Tuesday Division IV baseball sectional semifinal victory against Continental.

Gasser also had two hits and an RBI. Owen Calvelage had a hit and two RBI, Jarron Swick had a pair of hits and Adam Luersman and Brandt Menke each had a hit and an RBI.

MCGUFFEY — Winning pitcher Maddox Underwood allowed no hits or walks while striking out seven in three innings of a sectional semifinal. He also had three hits, including a double, and an RBI. Alex Sanders had three hits, including two doubles, and three RBI, Weston Decker had a hit and three RBI and Tommy Carl and a double and an RBI.

Leipsic 6, Holgate 3

LEIPSIC — Luke Spoors allowed five hits and a walk while striking out eight in getting the complete game Division IV sectional semifinal victory.

Quin Schroeder had a triple, a double, and two RBI, Trent Siefker had two hits, including a double, and Adam Lammers had a hit and an RBI also for the Vikings.

Ada 9, Cory-Rawson 1

ADA — Winning pitcher Spencer Wall and Roman Snyder combined to allow five hits and three walks while striking out eight in seven innings of a D-IV sectional semifinal. Wall also had two hits, including a triple, and an RBI. Roman Snyder had two hits and an RBI and Zach Nieswander homered also for the Bulldogs.

AYERSVILLE — Landon Horstman had Ottoville’s hit in a D-IV sectional semifinal.

FORT RECOVERY — Winning pitcher Alex Dues allowed one earned run, nine hits and a walk while striking out eight in seven innings of a D-IV sectional semifinal.

Landon Post had a double and two RBI, Caden Grisez had a triple and an RBI and Daniel Patch and Sage Wendel each had a hit and RBI also for the Indians. Jake Nieman had two hits, Jacob Lauck had a hit and an RBI and Matthew Quatman doubled for LCC.

ST. MARYS — Evan Harlamert had two hits and two RBI, Mason Welsch had a double and an RBI and Braylen Harlamert, Braxton Howell and Curtis Duerr each had a hit and an RBI for the Cavaliers. Brayden Sullivan had a double and an RBI for the Roughriders.

ROCKFORD — Winning pitcher Fletcher Smith and Apollo Thomas combined to allow two hits and a walk while striking out eight in five innings. Thomas also had a triple and two RBI. Caiden Berry had two hits, including a double, and an RBI and Bryce Stearns, Eddie Nichols, Xavier Samples and Jackson Kraner each had a hit and two RBI. Dawson Clay and Hewitt Wright each had a hit for Temple Christian.

MILLER CITY — Brendan Barlage drove in CJ Lehman with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning. Brent Koenig had two hits, including a double, and Jared Niese had a hit and an RBI also for Miller City. Braylon Scalf, Vincent Murry, Karder Agner and Sheldon Fetter each had a hit for Jefferson.
