San Diego State offensive tackle says he’s transferring to Ohio State

COLUMBUS — Ohio State might have found some offensive line help in the transfer portal after San Diego State tackle Josh Simmons announced on Twitter that he will transfer to OSU.

Simmons started every game last season at right tackle for San Diego State in his redshirt freshman year. He is 6-6 and weighs 305 pounds and was a 4-star recruit at Helix High School in La Mesa, California.

The Buckeyes will have three new starters on their offensive line this season. Left tackle Paris Johnson Jr. was a first-round draft choice of the Arizona Cardinals in last week’s NFL draft. Right tackle Dawand Jones was a fourth-round selection of the Cleveland Browns and center Luke Wypler was picked in the sixth round by the Browns.
