ONU ranked No. 13

ADA — The Ohio Northern is ranked No. 13 in the Week 9 D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll.

The Polar Bears (17-2 overall, 11-1 Ohio Athletic Conference) received 278 points in the poll and rose five spots from last week’s poll in which they received 196 points and were ranked No. 18.

Trinity (Tex.) is the top-ranked team in this week’s poll, receiving 618 points and 19 of 25 first-place votes.

The D3hoops.com poll is voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, sports information directors and media members from across the country and is published weekly.

Northern is also ranked No. 13 in this week’s Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Top 25 Poll, which was released Tuesday.

The Polar Bears received 103 points in the poll.

Northern received 52 points and was ranked No. 20 in last week’s poll.

Christopher Newport is the top-ranked team in the WBCA poll, receiving 249 points and nine of 10 first-place votes.

The WBCA NCAA Division III Coaches Poll Committee is composed of one head coach from each of the 10 NCAA Division III conferences.

Limaland schedule

gets released

Limaland Motorsports Park is scheduled to begin its 88th season of racing and 26th season under the ownership of the University of Northwestern Ohio on Friday, May 5. Thirteen events make up the 2023 season.

Returning in 2023 will be the DIRTcar UMP Modifieds and the Lock Sixteen Thunderstocks under the banner of the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series. Drivers and teams in the Modifieds and Thunderstocks will compete not only locally, but also in regional points chases under NASCAR sanctioning.

With the sale of the NRA Sprint Invaders in 2022 to Great Lakes Super Sprints owner Barry Marlow, a new partnership was formed that will see not only the return of the NRA to Limaland in 2023, but the addition of multiple events for the Great Lakes Traditional Sprints – the non-wing sprint car series also owned by Marlow.

The Dirt Track Truck Series will be in action for multiple events. The USAC Midwest Thunder Midgets also make a return to Limaland,
