Roundup: Lima Senior rolls to TRAC win against Clay

OREGON — Four Lima Senior Spartans scored in double digits in an 80-42 Three Rivers Athletic Conference boys high school basketball victory Friday night against Clay.

Brandon Moore (19), Je’Kel Cotton (12), Jagger Hutchins (12) and Amari Addy (11) led the scoring effort for Lima Senior (9-4, 4-4 TRAC).

Celina 44, Bath 40

BATH TOWNSHIP — Grant Duncan had 17 points and Caleb Gabes and Braylon Gabes each scored 10 for the visiting Bulldogs. Drake Craddock had 11 points and Jaxon Foster scored 10 for the Wildcats.

BLUFFTON — Wade Ginther (17), Marek Donaldson (14) and Carson Soper (10) each scored in double digits for the host Pirates. Cal Evans and Kreston Tow each had 11 points for the Lancers.

ELIDA — Seth Sharp had 13 points and A’Mari Wash scored eight for Elida.

MINSTER — Kage Richard (15), Ian Homan (11), Logan Kohne (10) and Cole Albers (10) each scored in double digits for the Wildcats. Andrew Lefflel had nine points for the Rangers.

OTTOVILLE — Keaton Schnipke (12), Michael Turnwald (10) and Carter Horstman (10) each scored in double digits for the Big Green. Jarron Swick had nine points and Adam Hoersten scored eight for the Musketeers.

PERRY TOWNSHIP — Ayden Simpson had 20 points and Kameron Moore scored 17 for the host Commodores. Colton Bailey had 12 points and Harrison Reppart scored 10 for the Golden Gophers.

ST. HENRY — Aaron Thieman (27), David Homan (14), Evan Eyink (12) and Alex Homan (11) each scored in double digits for the visiting Cardinals. Luke Beyke had 26 points and Evan Bowers scored 11 for the Redskins.

COLDWATER — Luke Schwieterman had 13 points for the host Cavaliers.

Swimming

County-wide meet

LIMA — An Allen County-wide championship meet will be held starting at 10 a.m. today at the Lima Family YMCA.

Bath, Bluffton, Elida, Lima Central Catholic, Shawnee and McComb (which swims with the Bluffton team) are scheduled to compete.

“We have some phenomenal swimming programs here in Allen County,” coach Logan Rex of host school Bath said in a news release. “The goal of this meet is to organize all the local county teams into one singular meet and allow our athletes to compete with other area swimmers.”

Approximately 90 athletes are expected to compete. Besides swimming, the meet will also play host to senior night for Bath, Elida and Shawnee. During the meet’s intermission, senior swimmers will line the pool deck with their parents and be recognized for their accomplishments in the sport.

Warm-ups begin at 9 a.m. Admission into the meet is free.
