Elida’s Zori Island pumped in 21 points and A’Mari Wash chipped in 14 points. Seth Sharp added 10 points. For Perry, Ayden Simpson had 14 points, Zamare Daniel had 13 points and Isaiah Sanders added 10 points.

Postponements

Due to impending weather several postponements have been announced for Friday.

The Crestview at St. John’s game has been rescheduled for Feb. 4 and the Van Wert against Columbus Grove has been moved to Jan. 3.

HARROD — Allen East’ Savana Brooks scored 17 points and Elle Richardson added 11 points.

Lima Central Catholic 58, Cardinal Stritch 38

Lima Central Catholic’s Olivia Stolly pumped in 28 points and Kiegh Macklin added 12 points. For Cardinal Stritch, Asia Brown scored 18 points.

Indian Lake 54, Upper Scioto Valley 46

McGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley’s Kennedy Hall had 16 points and Nevaeh Lowery added 15 points.

Bluffton to host tournament

BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Bluffton women’s basketball team will once again host the McDonald’s of Bluffton Holiday Classic. It marks the ninth installment of the tournament that tipped off back in 2013. The Beavers host Bethany on Thursday at 7 p.m. with Denison University from Granville, Ohio and Ohio Northern from nearby Ada getting together at 5 p.m.

Ohio Northern and Bethany are slated for noon on Friday with Bluffton and Denison on tap at approximately 2 p.m.

OSU 84, OREGON 67

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The No. 3/4 Ohio State Buckeyes (13-0, 2-0 B1G) beat No. 16/15 Oregon (10-2, 1-0 Pac-12) by an 84-67 margin to wrap up the San Diego Invitational on Wednesday.

Both teams were strong on the offense in the first quarter with Ohio State leading 25-23 after 10 minutes. The Buckeyes extended the lead to 54-37 at halftime with a 29-point second quarter. Despite a slow third quarter for OSU, the Buckeyes held onto a 10-point lead after 30 minutes. Ohio State sealed the win with a 25-point fourth quarter.

How it Happened

Cotie McMahon opened scoring and Rebeka Mikulášiková scored the next seven Buckeye points to give OSU the 9-7 lead just over two minutes into the game. Taylor Mikesell made a pair of triples as Ohio State led 19-16 at the media timeout. Oregon capped scoring in the first quarter as OSU held the 19-16 advantage.

The Buckeyes used a 10-0 run midway through the second quarter to take a 42-27 lead, outscoring the Ducks 17-4 during the quarter at that point. Back-to-back three-pointers from Mikulášiková and Rikki Harris stretched OSU’s lead to 52-34 with 1:08 remaining and a Taylor Thierry layup capped first-half scoring at 54-37.

Ohio State scored the first five points of the third quarter to extend the lead to 59-37 and force an Oregon timeout with 7:15 to play in the quarter. OSU called timeout with 2:26 remaining in the quarter leading 59-45 despite an eight-point Oregon run. The Ducks closed the gap to 59-49 heading into the final quarter.

The teams traded three-pointers to open the fourth quarter. Hevynne Bristow scored five-straight points on the floor to extend the lead to 67-54 with 7:20 to play. Ohio State put together an 8-2 run to lead 75-59 with just under four minutes remaining. The Buckeyes got triples from Mikesell and Mikulášiková down the stretch and capped scoring at 84-67.
