ARCHERY

Allen County: The Allen County Archers hold traditional 3-D shoots the third Saturday of the month all year long, weather permitting. They are open to all archery equipment. The Archers hold a “stump shoot” for traditional bows only the fourth Saturday of each month, weather permitting. BASKETBALL

Lima: Lima Senior boys varsity coach Quincey Simpson will start his weekly basketball lunches at noon today, at The Met in downtown Lima. The lunches will be held each Friday at the same time and place throughout the basketball season. It is a time to hear from Coach Simpson and to ask him questions. Lima: Area competition for the Elks Hoop Shoot will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Lima Community Church Axis Center, 2945 N Cole St. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. The Elks Hoop Shoot is the national free throw shooting contest for boys and girls ages 8 through 13. The boy and girl in each age group (8-9; 10-11 and 12-13) with the best score advance through four tiers of competition to qualify for the national finals. Celina: The Jingle Ball Jam will be held Dec. 17 and 18 at the new Rush Sports Complex. This tournament is for boys and girls teams in grades four through six and includes school and all-star divisions. Three games are guaranteed with awards to top two. Bluffton: The Lewis Family McDonald’s Holiday Tournament will be played Dec. 29 and 30 at Bluffton High School. Arlington takes on Continental at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 29 followed by Cory-Rawson and Bluffton. The consolation game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Dec. 30 before the tourney championship. EXERCISE

Lima: The Y-Kids are Fit program gives children the opportunity to engage in 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity while also learning the importance of making healthy choices. This program is for 6-14 year olds and will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Lima Family YMCA gymnasium. The program will last until Thursday, Dec. 15. HIGH SCHOOLS

Lima: The Lima Senior High School Athletic Boosters will hold its annual Reverse Raffle on Saturday, March 25, at the American Legion Post 96, 711 S. Shore Drive. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner starting at 6 p.m. The first raffle ticket will be drawn at 6:30 p.m. This year’s reverse raffle payout is $5,000. There will also be a live auction, Spartan Auction and other games of chance. All non-winning grand prize tickets will be put in a drawing for a second-chance prize. Tickets are $100. The price includes entry and food for two people and one entry into the reverse raffle. Ticket holders do not need to be present to win. Tickets can be purchased online at tinyurl.com/548mamfw. HORSESHOES

Lima: The Allen County Horseshoe Pitchers, located at 1815 C St., have openings in leagues and doubles. Open doubles begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturdays. Corn hole leagues are forming. LEGOS

Lima: The Lima Family YMCA at 345 S. Elizabeth St. is offering a Lego League and Lego League Jr.

The Lego League is for ages 9-14. Team meetings run from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Cost is $20 for Y members and $30 for non-members.

The Lego League Jr. is open for ages 6-9. The 5 p.m. Fall II meetings have started. The program runs for an hour, develops youth critical thinking and imagination and features real world challenges to be solved by the youth guided by adult coaches. The registration fee is $10 for Y members and $20 for non-members.

PICKLEBALL

Lima: Pickleball is played at Bradfield Center from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. All skill levels are welcome.

Lima: Pickleball is offered from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday at the Lima Family YMCA, 345 S. Elizabeth St.. Free for Y members and $7 per visit for non-members. Call 419-223-6045 for more information.

SWIMMING

Lima: New members are being accepting for the Lima Family YMCA’s Barracudas team for those ages 4 to 18. The Y also has a USA Swim Team which gives participants additional opportunities to compete at other Ohio venues. For more information contact April Dorman at 419-223-6045, extension 218.

TRAPSHOOTING

Lima: The Lima Sabres have various shooting events. Thursday Trap Practice for Adults/Juniors/Beginners is 4 p.m. weekly. Adult Trap Practice is 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesdays, weather permitting.
