Roundup: Volleyball, soccer sectional champs crowned

Several area teams advanced to districts in volleyball and boys and girls soccer with victories in sectional finals.

CONTINENTAL — Olivia Crossgrove and Makenzie Shock each had a goal and Morgan Dockery and Mackenzie Niese each contributed an assist as the Pirates moved on to play Ottawa-Glandorf at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday at Ottoville.

Continental’s Marissa Becher had eight saves and Cavalier counterpart Sydney Grieshop finished with 14. Ellie Schneider had Coldwater’s goal.

GLANDORF — Clara Beach had three goals and an assist, Lily Haselman had a goal and three assists, Karsyn Erford had three goals, Bri Douglass had a pair of tallies and Myka Aldrich had a goal for O-G. Emma Brinkman got the shutout in goal.

Cory-Rawson 1

BLUFFTON — Allison Diller had a goal and an assist, Jordan Schweingruber, Karson Hauenstein and Olivia Matthews each had a goal and Riley Eachus and Jasi Crawfis each had an assist for the Pirates, who will play Mansfield Christian, a 5-3 winner against Milan Edison, at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday at Bluffton’s Steinmetz Field. One of Bluffton’s tallies was on an own goal.

CELINA — The Bulldogs won 25-12, 25-12, 25-18 and advanced to play St. Marys at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Bluffton University.

Brooklyn Bourne had 10 kills, Mylee Sapp had 10 kills, Allison Schwieterman had nine digs and Payton Bertke had 27 assists for Celina.

CELINA — The Roughriders won 25-15, 25-15, 25-17.

Brynn Clark had 13 kills and four blocks, Halle Huston had 11 kills and three aces, Lily Rammel had 11 digs, Syerra Greber had 10 digs and three aces and Lily Rammel had 28 assists and three aces for St. Marys.

Shawnee 3, Defiance 0

FINDLAY — The Indians won 25-11, 25-22, 27-25 and will play Liberty-Benton, which defeated Maumee 25-20, 25-11, 25-19, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bluffton University.

Kelly Cooper had 24 kills, Kyra Vermillion had five kills, Karleigh Hutchins had 17 digs, Grace Freiberger had 37 digs and Addie Maxwell had 37 assists for Shawnee.

Division IV

Lincolnview 3, Kalida 1

LEIPSIC — The Lancers won 19-25, 25-19, 25-14, 25-23 and will play Leipsic at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Van Wert. McKayla Blankemeyer had 13 kills and five total blocks, Emma Bowersock had 12 kills, Carsyn Looser had 11 kills and four aces, Grace Brickner had 22 digs, Ashlyn Price had 16 digs and Breck Evans had 44 assists for Lincolnview.

Malia Romes had 18 kills and six total blocks, Elyse Romes had six kills, Maria Gerding had 34 assists, Brooke Erhart had four aces and five blocks, Whitney Unverferth had 19 digs and Riley Nienberg had 10 digs for Kalida.

LEIPSIC — The Vikings won 25-11, 25-18, 25-20.

Kasey Brough had 17 kills, Alivia Jones had 12 kills, 19 digs and four aces, Marisa Hermiller had three blocks, Alaina Brown had 17 digs and Serenity Siefer had 39 assists for Leipsic.

CONVOY — The Knights won 25-8, 25-15, 25-16 and will play Miller City at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Van Wert. Cali Gregory had four aces and 28 assists, Laci McCoy had three aces, Adelyn Figley had 12 kills, Myia Etzler had 11 kills and Ellie Kline had 16 digs for Crestview.

Mia Conley had four kills and 11 blocks, Laila Sites had four kills; Abby Kerner had 11 digs and Grace Moenter had 11 digs and seven assists for DSJ.

CONVOY — The Wildcats won 17-25, 25-12, 25-22, 25-13. Cloe Kuhlman had 20 kills, Morgan Verhoff had 11 kills and 16 digs, Tori Wenzinger had 22 digs, Josie Otto had 20 digs and 38 assists and Libby Erford had 13 digs and five aces for Miller City.

Elisa Kramer had four aces, Erica Thorbahn had 34 assists and 14 digs, Elisa Kramer had 16 kills, Jacelyn Langhals had 11 kills and Isabelle Furley had 12 digs for Ottoville.

NEW BREMEN — The Pioneers won 25-9, 25-13, 22-25, 25-14.

Cecelia Worsham had 19 kills and 17 digs, Emily Bontrager had 21 assists, Hailey Smith had eight kills and Kaylee Linhart had 17 assists and 18 digs for Temple Christian, which plays New Bremen at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Wapakoneta.

MARIA STEIN — The Flyers won 25-15, 25-17, 25-17. Lydia Eifert had 11 digs, Julia Moeller had 17 assists, Reagan Kremer had nine kills, Lindsey Koenig had 12 kills and Natalie Evers had 13 assists for Marion Local.

Lily Barhorst had eight kills, Megan Fortman had seven kills and three blocks, Alayna Prenger had four assists and Lyndi Hemmelgarn had 16 digs for Minster.

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — Austin Miller had four goals and an assist, Coda Miller and Sam Tenwalde had two tallies each, Luca Fusillo had a goal and an assist, Alex McGuire had a pair of assists, Austin Rosebeck had a goal and Noah Scheid and Tate Bender each finished with an assist.

Drew Neidemire got the shutout in goal.

KENTON — the Wildcats advanced to play St. Marys at 7:15 p.m. Monday at Elida. Connor Defibaugh, Colby Quay and Joel Bowman each had a goal for Kenton.

ST. MARYS — Vincent Holtzapple had two goals, Quinn Holtzapple had a goal and an assist, Reese Triplett and Tony Zheng each had a tally and AJ Dieringer, Cody Birt and Easton Craft each had an assist for the Roughriders.
