Roundup: Upper Scioto Valley turns back Hardin Northern

DOLA — Alex Sanders rushed 32 times for 202 yards and three touchdowns as Upper Scioto Valley produced a 28-14 Northwest Central Conference high school football victory Friday night against Hardin Northern.

Ryan Roberts had a touchdown run also for USV. Branson Grindell returned a kickoff 72 yards for a score and Nolan Hopson had a TD pass to Carter Curtis for Hardin Northern.

LUCAS — The Thunderbirds improved to 4-3 on the season.

Van Wert 36, Shawnee 14

VAN WERT — Aidan Pratt completed 20 of 32 pass attempts for 287 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for a TD. Teammate Brylen Parker ran for a touchdown and had a TD catch. Connor Campbell and Maddix Crutchfield, who had five receptions for 81 yards, each had a TD catch and Garett Gunter had seven catches for 97 yards also for Van Wert. Jordan Banks and Chase Beery had touchdown runs for Shawnee.

TOLEDO — Lima Senior’s Sumarion Doughty completed a 54-yard touchdown pass to Jekei Cotton.

BATH TOWNSHIP — Bath’s Mikey Hale had 10 carries for 104 yards.

OTTAWA — Nick Adams ran for a touchdown and threw a TD pass to Adam Faber. Peyton Kuhlman ran for a touchdown.

HARROD — Jacob Hershberger had eight carries for 123 yards and three touchdowns, threw a 90-yard TD pass to Carson Clum and returned an interception for a score. Jack Hoel had 11 carries for 91 yards and a TD, Trey Hensley and Jacob Pinks had touchdown runs and Joe Hoel scored on a punt return also for the Mustangs.

New Bremen 62, St. Henry 27

NEW BREMEN — David Homan had 353 yards rushing and four touchdowns on 19 carries and threw a TD pass to ,Aaron Poeppelman and teammate Hunter Schaefer had 125 yards and four TDs on 16 carries. Curtis Puthoff had a touchdown run and completed 14 of 19 pass attempts for 246 yards and had a TD throw to Nolan Kunkler, Hayden Boeckman had eight receptions for 174 yards and Harrison Wendel had a pair of touchdown runs for St. Henry.

Columbus Grove 31, Crestview 6

CONVOY — Trenton Barraza had 234 yards and a pair of TDs on 11 carries, Brenton Renner had a touchdown pass to Landen Schroeder, Kyle Lathrop returned a fumble for a score and Shep Halker made a 32 yard field goal for Grove. Isaac Kline had Crestview’s score.

Ridgemont 30, Perry 21

MT. VICTORY — Wade Gamble had three TD runs for Ridgemont, which also scored on a blocked punt. Perry’s Omarion Gardner had a pair of TD passes to Elijah Caudill, who had six catches for 146 yards and returned a kickoff 60 yards for another score.

MARIA STEIN — Drew Lause a run, pass reception and kickoff return for a touchdown, Darren Meier had three TD runs, Griffin Bruns had a TD reception and Tate Hess and Justin Knouff had TD passes.

VAN BUREN — Ethan Luginbill had 20 carries for 208 yards and a pair of TDs and Tanner Liechty had a trio of TD throws to Aidan Morris.

ST. MARYS — Aiden Hinkle had 15 carries for 161 yards and three touchdowns, Cody Wallace had two TD throws to Keegan Sharpe totaling 95 yards and Brayden Sullivan, Dominik Osborne and Sharpe each had a touchdown run.

Minster 48, Parkway 20

ROCKFORD — Brogan Stephey completed 17 of 26 pass attempts for 456 yards and five touchdowns, two to Connor Schmiesing for a total of 110 yards and one each to Dylan Heitkamp, who had four catches for 138 yards, James Niemeyer and Brady Wolf. Stephey and teammate Justin Bergman each had a touchdown run.

Eddie Nichols had 14 carries for 143 yards and a TD and Fletcher Smith had a TD run and a 91-yard touchdown throw to Caden Heindel for Parkway.

Coldwater 34, Delphos St. John’s 3

DELPHOS — Marcel Blasingame had 16 carries for 139 yards and a pair of TDs and had a TD pass to Blade Buschur. Luke Sudhoff had a touchdown run and Shane Ontrop returned an intercepton for a score. DSJ’s Braylon Metzger made a 42-yard field goal.
