Host sweeps team titles at Celina invitational

CELINA — The host Bulldogs swept the boys and girls team titles in the Division I/II races during Saturday’s Rotary Invitational at Wright State University – Lake Campus.

The Celina boys finished with a score of 57 with St. Marys (59) second among the eight schools that posted team scores.

Bryan’s Xander Fackler was the race winner in 16 minutes, 7.6 seconds. St. Marys’ Tyler Birt (fifth) and Calvin Morris (sixth) and Celina’s Colin Buening (seventh) and Conor Krogman (eighth) finished in the top 10.

Celina had the low total of 61 in the girls event with St. Marys (77) second. Celina’s Kaylie Dameron was the race winner in 19:32.4. Teammate Jennalee Dameron was third. Elida’s Emily Durham (eighth) and St. Marys’ Maria Jutte (1oth) also were in the top 10.

Marion Local (30) was the D-III boys race winner with New Bremen (85), Parkway (109) and Coldwater (147) also finishing in the top five. Jackson Center’s Kellen Reichert was the race winner in 16:36.6. Marion Local’s Troy Stucke (second), Noah Budde (fourth), Dalton Pohlmann (seventh), Lucas Broering (eighth) and Trey Goettemoeller (ninth) all finished in the top 10 as did New Bremen’s Zach Wiedeman (third) and Patrick Bernhold (10th).

Fort Loramie (20) won the girls D-III team title. Parkway (75), St. Henry (85) and New Bremen (91) were second through fourth respectively. Fort Loramie’s Camille Borchers finished first in 19:36.2. Parkway’s Amanda Barrett was fifth and St. Henry’s Rileigh Baumer finished 10th.

Defiance Early Bird

DEFIANCE — Ottawa-Glandorf’s Alex Fortman (19:49.53) was second behind race winner Sophie Rupp (19:47) from Archbold. O-G’s Madelyn Hovest and Olivia Fenbert were sixth and seventh respectively.

O-G’s Ty Rosengarten was sixth in the boys race behind first place Jackson Callan (16:24.84) from Wauseon.

No team scores were kept.

Volleyball

Panther Invitational

ROCKFORD — Host Parkway defeated Celina 25-20, 25-22 in the championship match. The Panthers also defeated Pandora-Gilboa 25-9, 25-9 and Elida 25-20, 25-17.

In other scores, Celina topped Hardin Northern 25-8, 25-12 and South Adams 25-23, 18-25, 25-19, P-G defeated Elida 25-19, 9-25, 25-21, Elida topped Hardin Northern 25-13, 25-22 and Hardin Northern fell 25-8, 25-8 to South Adams.

Shawnee 3, Arlington 0

The Indians won 25-11, 25-12, 25-20.

Addison Maxwell had 18 assists, Grace Freiberger had 12 digs and five aces, Kelly Cooper had eight killsand six blocks and Karleigh Hutchins had six kills and three aces.

Perry 3, Kenton 2

The Commodores improved to 4-0 with the 24-26, 25-16, 25-15, 17-25, 17-15 win. Lexenna Lee had 18 assists, six kills and three aces, Bryce James had 13 digs and Mary Hoersten had 19 kills and five blocks for Perry.

Continental 3, Fayette 0

CONTINENTAL — The Pirates won 25-13, 25-10, 25-12. Delaney Bowers had six kills, seven digs and five aces, Rhaegan Marshall had seven kills, Macie Cordes had five aces, Teaghan McDougle had 20 assists and Lauren Williams had four block assists for Continental.

Upper Scioto Valley 3,

Lima Senior 1

USV won 25-16, 25-21, 15-25, 25-23. Aniya Fisher had 11 kills, Mallory Gipson had 17 assists, Tatum Twining had four aces and Tillie Nelson had 13 digs for Lima Senior.

Minster 3, Sidney 2

The Wildcats won 25-16, 19-25, 25-18, 22-25, 15-5. Brooklyn Osterioh had seven aces and 16 assists, Alayna Prenger had four aces and 17 assists, Lilly Barhorst had 15 kills, Lyndi Hemmelgarn had 16 digs and Macy Prenger had 15 digs for Minster.

Ottoville 3, Cory-Rawson 0

RAWSON — The Big Green won 25-18, 25-18, 25-6. Kara Burgei had five aces, Isabelle Furley had three aces, Erica Thorbahn had 29 assists and Elisa Kramer had 22 kills and five digs for Ottoville.

Bath 3, LCC 0

BATH TOWNSHIP — The Wildcats won 27-25, 25-12, 25-10.

Claire Foust had nine kills, 14 digs and five blocks, Claire Armentrout had five aces and nine assists and Clare Farler had 11 digs and three aces Bath.

ELIDA — Nick Lovett and Nolan Hoffman each had a goal for Bluffton and teammate Kyle Basil had 12 saves.

ELIDA — Ethan Thomas had two goals and an assist and Jordan Cardenas had a single tally for the Bulldogs.

Reece Berryman had three goals and an assist, Gavin Evans had a single tally and Jackson Evans had a pair of assists.

AJ Dieringer had the Roughriders’ goal with Quinn Holtzapple providing the assist.

MILLER CITY — Ethan Barlage had the Wildcats’ goal with Ashten Searfoss providing an assist. Teammate Lane Pester made nine saves.

Kellen Schlagbaum had four goals, Quintin Schnipke had two tallies and Grant Leis, Preston Mansfield, Trey Landwehr and Ashton Miller had one goal each.

COLDWATER — Brianna Keller and Leah Kaiser had three goals each. Hope Hemmelgarn had two tallies, Mia Byer had a goal and an assist and Olivia Tobe, Avery Knapke and Mariah Bonifas each had an assist also for the Cavaliers. Olivia Stolly had both Lima Central Catholic goals and teammate Kiegh Macklin had an assist.
