Roundup: Elida’s Harmon claims medalist honors at boys tourney

HARROD — Elida’s Carson Harmon shot a 1-under-par 70 to earn medalist honors at Tuesday’s Colonial Golfers Club Tournament.

Findlay won the team title with a 317 total with Delphos St. John’s (335), Kalida (338), Elida (339) and Ottoville (340) also finishing in the top five with 16 posting team totals.

DSJ’s Collin Feathers had the second-lowest individual score of 73.

Lima Central Catholic’s Parker Judy (76), Kalida’s Conner Nartker (79), Ottoville’s Keaton Schnipke (81), Allen East’s Levi Clum (82), Lincolnview’s Grant Glossett (85), Bluffton’s Jacob Boisvert (88), Shawnee’s Seth Grieshop (89) and Crestview’s Mathew Dealey (97) had the low scores for their respective schools. Temple Christian’s Quinten Walters shot a 91 playing as an individual.

Mercer County Invitational

Nathan Overman (79), Hayden Beougher (80), Ben Giere (82) and Keaton Bruns (82) combined for Coldwater’s winning total of 323 at the Mercer County Elks. Medalist Marcus Rethman, who shot 76, led Marion Local to a second place score of 336.

Among varsity teams, Celina’s Nick Steinbrunner and Kale Sudhoff (87 each), St. Henry’s Ty Post (85), Fort Recovery’s Eli Lennertz (85) and Parkway’s Roman Leszinke (86) had the low rounds for their respective schools.

Tri match

KENTON — Kenton (204) defeated Hardin Northern (212) and Ridgemont (220) at par 72 Veterans Memorial Park Golf Course. Grady Baum (48), Klayton Schlegel (49), Hunter Furr (52) and Landon Plaugher (55) combined for the Wildcats’ winning total.

Shawnee 4, Bluffton 1

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — Singles players Alora Patel, Ava Patel, Rose Kottapalli and the doubles team of Jenova DeBrosse and Brailynn Murphy won for Shawnee. Kaleigh Coffman and Brooklyn Moser won for Bluffton.

Wauseon Invitational

WAUSEON — Chelsea Erford shot the third-lowest individual round of 87 to lead Miller City, which finished with a 469 for ninth place out of 10 schools posting team scores. Otsego’s 379 was good for first place. Hicksville’s Kenzie Schroeder was medalist with a 76.
