Roundup: Limaland season scheduled to start Friday

LIMA — Limaland Motorsports Park is scheduled Friday to hold its Season Opening Shootout.

Pits open at 4:30 p.m. and gates at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing starting at 7:30 p.m.

The Ohio Logistics NRA Sprint Invaders, Northwest Physical Therapy UMP Modifieds and Lock Sixteen Thunderstocks will be featured. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for those ages 11 to 15 with children 10 and younger getting in for free. Pit passes are $30. Call 419-339-6249 or go to limaland.com for more information.

COLDWATER — The Marion Local boys and Celina girls are atop the standings after the first day at Cavalier Stadium.

The Flyer boys had 43 points after four events followed by Coldwater (28), Celina (27), St. Henry (16), Parkway (6) and Fort Recovery (3).

Marion Local’s Tate Hess (high jump) and Nate Buscher (pole vault), Coldwater’s Jesse Meyer (shot put) and the Marion Local 3,200 relay team of Aaron Broering, Wesley Schoen, Andrew Pohlman and Noah Budde all finished first.

The Bulldog girls have 28 points after three events followed by Coldwater (25), Fort Recovery (24), St. Henry (12), Marion Local (2) and Parkway (1)

Celina’s Amelia Lutz (discus), Fort Recovery’s Mara Pearson (long jump) and the Celina 3,200 relay team of Emily Schwieterman, Raven Harris, Joscelyn Dameron and Kaylie Dameron all won.

Competition is scheduled to resume Thursday with field events at 4 p.m. and running events at 6 p.m.
