Roundup: Shawnee wins boys tennis invitational

VAN WERT — Shawnee won the team title at Saturday’s boys tennis invitational.

The Indians finished with 35 points followed by Ottawa-Glandorf (28), St. Marys (25), Van Wert (21) and Wauseon (10).

Shawnee’s Gabe Burke (first singles), Mason Stahl (second singles) and Mac Davis (third singles) and Ottawa-Glandorf’s Eli Schmenk and Joshua Walls (first doubles) and St. Marys’ Cody Birt and Rhett Chisholm (second doubles) won their divisions.

NEW BREMEN — Camryn Swain had three hits and an RBI, Allison Dirsken had two hits, including a double, and three RBI and Kailee Beyke had two hits, including a double, and two RBI for Marion Local. Alivia Dammeyer had a hit and three RBI and Sarah Dwenger had a double and two RBI for New Bremen.

ST. MARYS — Winning pitcher Karysyn McGlothen allowed a Rachel Kemper hit and two walks while striking out 16 in six innings. Makenzie Henning had three hits and two RBI and Renee Sweigart had three doubles and five RBI.

COLDWATER — Winning pitcher Madison Wendel allowed five hits and a walk while striking out 10 in seven innings. Claire Steinke had two doubles and two RBI. Jordan Blythe doubles for Van Wert.
