O-G’s White D3 Northwest Ohio Player of Year

Boys and girls All-Northwest Ohio basketball teams were announced on Wednesday.

Two area players received Player of the Year honors in their divisions and five area coaches were voted as Coach of the Year in their divisions.

Ottawa-Glandorf sophomore Colin White shared the Division III boys Player of the Year award with two other players and New Knoxville’s Ellie Gabel is one of three players named Player of the Year in Division IV girls.

Lima Senior’s Khalil Luster is on the boys Division I first team. His teammates Brent Moss and Camren Miles are on the second and third teams. Lima Senior coach Quincey Simpson and Toledo Whitmer coach Anthony Stacey shared Division I Coach of the Year honors.

Shawnee’s Brady Wheeler is on the Division II first team and the Indians’ Austin Miller received honorable mention.

Perry’s Brayden Knight is on the Division IV second team and the Commodores’ Ryan Yingst received honorable mention. LCC’s Evan Unruh and Carson Parker got honorable mention in Division III.

Bluffton coach Todd Boblitt shared the Division III Coach of the Year honors with two other coaches and Pandora-Gilboa’s Mike Lee shared the Division IV Coach of the Year honors with Tiffin Calvert’s Jon Otterbacher.

Leipsic’s Mason Brandt and Ridgemont’s Landon Newland are first-teamers on the Division IV boys team.

Shawnee’s Zoe Best and St. Marys’ Kendall Dieringer are on the girls Division II first team. Bath’s Ava Craddock is on the second team and Shawnee’s Grace Freiberger is on the third team. Bath’s Rachel Clark and Elida’s Addisyn Freeman received honorable mention.

Ottawa-Glandorf’s Erin Kaufman, Delphos Jefferson’s Alyvia Lindeman and Coldwater’s Riley Rismiller are on the Division III first team. Jefferson coach Denise Lindeman shared the DIII Coach of the Year award with Amy Bays of Ashland Crestview.

In Division IV, in addition to Gabel, Miller City’s Abi Lammers and Pandora-Gilboa’s Lacie Fenstermaker are first-teamers. New Knoxville coach Tim Hegemier is one of three Coaches of the Year in Division IV.

A full list of the All-Northwest honorees is on page 2B. The teams were selected by a panel of 10 media members.
