Boys basketball roundup: Perry clinches at least share of NWCC

LIMA — Perry clinched at least a portion of the Northwest Central Conference boys basketball championship with a 67-31 victory Friday night against Temple Christian.

The Commodores used a 25-7 first quarter advantage to propel themselves past the Pioneers.

Joey Hoersten had 23 points and Bradey Yingst scored 13 for Perry (15-3, 6-0 NWCC). Landon Callahan had 16 points and Dawson Clay scored eight for Temple Christian (3-13, 0-5 NWCC).

Ottoville 44, Continental 29

CONTINENTAL — The Big Green held the Pirates scoreless in the fourth quarter to snag the Putnam County League victory.

Will Miller had 28 points and Carter Horstman scored six for Ottoville (12-7, 4-2 PCL). Alex Sharritts had eight points and Carson Etter scored six for Continental (5-13, 1-4 PCL).

St. Marys 70, Elida 51

ELIDA — The Roughriders held a 36-20 halftime advantage on their way to victory. Austin Parks (20), Jace Turner (16), Gavin Reineke (10) and Evan Angstmann (10) scored in double digits for St. Marys (10-6, 4-2 WBL). X’Zorian Island had 23 points and Tori Thomas scored eight for Elida (3-14, 0-7 WBL).

Lincolnview 46, Delphos Jefferson 40

MIDDLE POINT — The Lancers rebounds from a 23-17 halftime deficit. Daegan Hatfield had 14 points and Landon Price scored nine for Lincolnview (4-14, 2-4 Northwest Conference). Trent Teman had 15 points and Colin Bailey scored 11 for Jefferson (5-13, 1-5 NWC).

Kalida 49, Miller City 36

MILLER CITY — Kalida recovered from a 12-11 first quarter deficit to grab a 25-16 halftime advantage. Tyson Siefker had 18 points and EJ Miller and Jaden Smith each scored 10 for Kalida (8-10, 3-3 PCL). Austin Ruhe had 12 points and Bo Niese scored 11 for Miller City (9-9, 1-5 PCL).

Several Friday night area high school boys basketball JV and varsity games were rescheduled due to the inclement weather.
