Delphos St. John’s Abby Kerner scored 23 points and Emma Will chipped in eight points. For Lima Central Catholic, Kiegh Macklin scored 13 and Olivia Stolly added 10.

Bath 41, Versailles 23

Bath’s Ava Craddock and Elena Oliver each scored 11 points and Anne Oliver grabbed eight rebounds and scored five points.

Leipsic 45, Ada 33

ADA — Leipsic’s Whitney Langhals scored 13 points.For Ada, Olivia Burkhart scored 15 points and Courtney Somner added 12.

Botkins 42, Perry 14

Botkins’ Malanie Mauerer and Carmen Heuker each scored 12 points. For Perry, Mi’auni Hall scored five points.

Hardin Northern 36, Arcadia 24

DOLA — Emma Martin had a double-double night as she grabbed 10 rebounds and scored 12 points. Katie Good led the team with 13 points. For Arcadia, London Karrick scored 13 points.

Miller City 45, Toledo Christian 32

MILLER CITY — Miller City’s Abi Lammers scored 18 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and made three steals. The Wildcats improve to 13-4.

Boys basketball

COLUMBUS — Ottawa-Glandorf moved up one spot in the Division III Associated Press Ohio High School boys basketball poll released Monday.

The Titans (13-2), defeated Celina, 72-35, Friday and then followed it up with a 57-45 victory over Rossford on Saturday.

Lima Senior remained No. 13 in the Division I poll.

Columbus Grove’s Verhoff commits

Columbus Grove’s all-Ohio kicker Rece Verhoff has announced via Twitter that he will be continuing his football career at Marshall University.

Lima Senior signings

Three Lima Senior High School football players will sign their national letters of intent to continue their playing careers at the next level at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Lima Senior Gymnasium.

Isaiah Foster will be signing with Tiffin University and Marcus Brown and LJ Layton will sign with Youngstown State University.

Elida signings

Two Elida football players will be signing their national letters of intent to continue their playing careers at the next level on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Elida High School Commons.

Colin Mack will sign with Hillsdale and Zain Hile will be heading to Defiance College.

Boys bowling

St. Marys 2,535, Kenton 2,263

ST. MARYS — Devin Hastings had the high game (221) and two-game series (409) for Kenton.

College

Fort Jennings product honored

ADA — Ohio Northern sophomore Kristen Luersman (Fort Jennings) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 24-30.

This marks the first such honor of Luersman’s career.

Luersman earns the accolade after helping the Polar Bears go 2-0 last week with a 59-41 home win over Wilmington on Wednesday and a 66-54 victory at Mount Union on Saturday to improve to 13-4 overall and 7-3 in the OAC.

Against Wilmington, Luersman tallied her first career double-double, posting career-high marks of 16 points and 15 rebounds.

She added five points and three rebounds in the win over Mount Union.

The Polar Bears return to the court at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at OAC foe Otterbein

ONU games moved up

ADA — The Ohio Northern men’s and women’s basketball games with Otterbein on Wednesday have been moved to 3 pm start times due to a winter storm expected to hit the area that night.

The ONU men will now Otterbein at 3 pm, while the ONU women will play at Otterbein at 3 pm.

Heavy snow, accompanied with wind gusts up to 30 mph, are expected Wednesday evening and throughout the day on Thursday.

The Polar Bear men are 8-9 overall and 2-8 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Polar Bear women are 13-4, 7-3.

ONU establishes women’s endowment

ADA — Ohio Northern University announced the formation of a new endowment for the women’s basketball program during halftime of its contest against Marietta on Jan. 22.

Gifts from alumni and friends recently reached the $100,000 threshold for the sport in establishing the formation of the women’s basketball endowment.

“The funds from the endowment will help support the women’s basketball program above and beyond the University’s resources to improve the quality of the student-athlete experience,” ONU director of athletics Tom Simmons said. “We are grateful to all of our friends and family of ONU athletics. Their contributions will directly benefit our student-athletes and provide a margin of excellence now and in the future.”

This endowment is the fourth in the athletics department at ONU, joining men’s basketball, volleyball and wrestling, to receive donations totaling more than $100,000.
