BASKETBALL

Fort Recovery: The High School Athletic Hall of Fame will be inducting the 1971 OSHAA Boys’ Basketball Class A State Championship Team. The induction will take place between the JV and varsity boys basketball games against Fort Loramie scheduled for Saturday, Jan, 22. The 1971 Indians will join the previous 45 individuals that have been selected since the Hall of Fame was established in 2007 in honor of long-time Indian fan David Neff. The 1971 Indians were coached by Allen Souder. They completed their regular season with a record of 18-2. They won the Mercer County League, going undefeated in league play. Their overall record ended at 26-2.

Van Wert: The Elam Ending for fifth and sixth grade boys and girls teams will be held Feb. 19-20 at Van Wert High School/Middle School. Teams are guaranteed three games and awards go to the top two. Individual medals will be presented to any player making an Elam Ending Shot. They will also have their picture taken and entered into the Elam Enders Hall of Fame. Registration fee is $150. Bath Township: A boys fifth and sixth grade tournament will be held March 26-27 at Bath High School. School teams only. Cost is $150 per team with a three-game guarantee. CARD SHOW

Lima: Jumbo’s Card show will feature 200 tables and be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Lima Civic Center.

Ohio State football autograph signings will be available from Rodney Hickman, Tyleik Williams, Teradja Mitchell, Steele Chambers and Miyan Williams. Admission will be free.

HORSESHOES

Lima: The Allen County Horseshoe Pitchers, located at 1815 C St., have openings in leagues and doubles. Open doubles begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturdays. Corn hole leagues are forming. NISWONGER SPEAKER

Van Wert: Paul Keels, the play-by-play voice of Ohio State football and men’s basketball on the Buckeyes radio network the last 24 years, will speak at The Niswonger Performing Arts Center at 3 p.m. Sunday April 10.

Tickets, which cost from $19 to $29, will go on sale to the public Jan. 21.

PICKLEBALL

Lima: Pickleball is played at Bradfield Center from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. All skill levels are welcome.

Lima: The Lima YMCA is holding open pickleball play from 10 a.m. to noon Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (appointment only). Free for YMCA members and $3 per visit for nonmembers or $20 per month for nonmembers (unlimited play). Individuals can register online at limaymca.net. Call 419-223-6045 for more information.

PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING

Lima: WAR Wrestling returns Saturday, Feb. 19, to Empowered Sports Center (formerly Northland Lanes) at 1730 N. Union St. Advance tickets are $18 for VIP, general admission for $12 or four for $40 and bleachers for $7. At the door, tickets will be $18 for VIP and $12 for general admission and bleachers. VIP doors open at 5:30 p.m., general doors open at 6:30 p.m. and wrestling is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Tickets available online at warwrestling.com or in at Groamy’s, 1206 W. Robb Ave. Those scheduled to appear include WAR Champion, Aaron Williams, WAR Women’s Champion, Shawna Reed, WAR Respect Champion, Austin Manix, WAR Tag Team Champions and The Wiseguys with Ripper Blackhart.

TENNIS

Lima: A free middle school team tennis program sponsored and funded by the Lima Area Tennis Association and the United States Tennis Association/Northwestern Ohio Tennis Association for ages 12-14 will be held from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 29-30 at Westwood Tennis & Fitness Center, 3101 West Elm St. The teaching pro will be Jeff Brown. TRAPSHOOTING

Lima: The Lima Sabres have various shooting events. Thursday Trap Practice for Adults/Juniors/Beginners is 4 p.m. weekly. Adult Trap Practice is 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesdays, weather permitting. YMCA CLASSES

Lima: The Lima Family YMCA will be holding Classes for Kids (besides basketball leagues), including Shoot & Scoop (basketball skills for those 3 to 5 years old Friday evenings), Youth Karate, Gymnastics, Lego League and swim lessons. Classes for adults include Karate, swim lessons, Water Aerobics, Arthritis Aquatics, Chair Exercise classes, Yoga (chair and regular), HIIT, BodyPump, Yoga Pilates Flow, Core workout CX, Combat, Zumba, Cardio and Tone and cycling classes. Members get land fitness classes free and a discount on other classes. Nonmembers are welcome to join classes at a pay per class rate or session fee.
