Roundup: Bath edges Marion Local to win Classic

BATH TOWNSHIP — Ava Craddock made two free throws with 11 seconds left to give Bath a 37-36 victory against Marion Local in Saturday’s Kewpee Tip Off Classic championship game.

Lexi Renner had 11 points, Craddock scored eight and Claire Foust contributed seven rebounds for the Wildkittens (2-0).

Sammy Hoelscher had 17 points and Avae Unrast scored five for the Flyers (1-1)

Bryan defeated Lima Senior 76-27 in the consolation game. Tiana Spivey had 12 points and Amiyah Coleman scored six for Lima Senior (0-2).

BLUFFTON — Bluffton defeated Allen East 56-51 to win the tournament title.

Ayla Grandey had 15 points and Riley Busch scored 10 for the 2-0 champs. Savana Brooks had 18 points and Rilynn Jones scored nine for the Mustangs (1-1)

Bluffton’s Kylie Monday was named tourney MVP and was joined on the all-tournament team by teammates Sami Scoles and Grandey, Brooks, Jones, Cory-Rawson’s Paige McVetta and Arlington’s Brooklyn Smith.

Cory-Rawson defeated Arlington 43-35 in the consolation game. Lanie Kempf had 13 points and McVetta scored 12 for C-R.

KENTON — Sadie Larrabee had 13 points and Lauren Bartlett scored 11 for the host Wildcats. Olivia Stolly had 15 points and Kiegh Macklin and Allison Young each scored 11 for Lima Central Catholic.

HUNTINGDON, Pa. — After building a 21-8 lead at the end of the first quarter, Ohio Northern cruised to a victory against Lycoming (Pa.) at the Juniata Classic at Memorial Gymnasium.

The Polar Bears (3-0) got 14 points and seven rebounds from Shawnee graduate Alissa Stahler and 12 points and three rebounds from Kate Iliff.

Brynn Serbin tallied a game-high four steals.

ADA — Ohio Northern senior Melina Woods, an Ada graduate, and freshman Taylor Baxterwere named Honorable Mention All-America and First Team All-Region 7 for 2021 by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
