Shawnee finishes 9-0 in WBL boys soccer

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — The Shawnee boys soccer team defeated Elida 10-1 Thursday night to finish 9-0 in Western Buckeye League play, giving the Indians 27 points. No other match information was reported by deadline.

Jude Spallinger had the goal for the ninth-ranked Division III Pirates (11-3-1) and Kyle Basil made three saves to earn the shutout.

St. Marys 3, Celina 0

CELINA — The Roughriders (10-3-3, 6-2-1 WBL) reached 73 goals on the season to break the previous school mark of 72 set in 2000.

Wyatt Chapman had all three goals, Cody Birt had an assist and Cayden Ballweg made two saves to earn the shutout.

Ada 4, Marion Harding 1

Carter Conley had two goals, Nathan Williams and Logan Jolliff had one score each and Colton Long made seven saves for Ada.

Cecelia Worsham had 16 kills and seven digs, Hailey Smith had six kills, Emma White had three aces and seven digs, Brianna Smith had three blocks, Kaylee Linhart had 19 assists, Emily Bontrager had 10 assists and three aces and Jessica Holloway had three aces and 22 digs for Temple Christian.

The No. 6 ranked Division IV Vikings fell 25-16, 25-15, 25-16 to the No. 3 D-III Eagles.

Peyton Heitmeyer had 10 kills and 18 digs, Serenity Siefer had 21 assists, Jocie Hermiller had 11 digs,

Alaina Brown and Samantha Hazelton had 10 digs each, Alivia Jones had five kills and Ava Henry and Marisa Hermiller each had four kills for Leipsic.

Bryce James had 25 digs, Mary Hoersten had 10 assists and 11 kills and Alexa Burgess had three aces and 10 digs for Perry.

NEW KNOXVILLE — The Rangers won 25-23, 25-15, 25-14 to finish 8-1 in Midwest Athletic Conference matches. Carsyn Henschen had 16 kills and Ellie Gabel had 39 assists and 16 digs for New Knoxville. Stella Huelsman had five kills, Natalie Evers had 11 assists and Lydia Eifert had 18 digs for Marion Local.

Tiana Spivey had seven assists and eight kills and Tillie Nelson had seven kills and 10 digs for Lima Senior.

The Wildcats won 25-10, 25-21, 20-25, 25-11. Lexi Banks had 12 kills and 12 digs, Abi Lammers had 20 kills and 17 digs, Grace Pfau had 36 assists and 19 digs, Josie Otto had 14 digs and six aces and Tessa Oedy had 29 digs for Miller City (17-4).

VAN BUREN — The Pirates fell 25-20, 25-18, 25-20. Kylie Stackhouse had 16 kills and three blocks, Skyler Scoles had 20 assists and 10 digs and Kylie Monday had 17 digs for Bluffton.

Ayersville 3, Paulding 2

The Panthers fell 24-26, 23-25, 25-10, 25-21, 16-14. Kate Beckman had 17 kills, Claire Schweller had 27 assists, Janae Pease had four aces and 26 digs and Maci Kauser had 18 digs for Paulding.

Versailles 3, Minster 2

The Wildcats fell 29-31, 22-25, 25-13, 25-20, 15-12. Jayden Clune had five aces, 13 assists and 18 digs, Lily Barhorst had nine kills, six blocks and 23 digs, Ella Mescher had eight kills, Lyndi Hemmelgarn had 27 digs and Alyssa Niemeyer had 18 digs for Minster.

Elida 3, Bath 2

The Bulldogs won 25-16, 22-25, 25-15, 25-27, 15-11.

Addisyn Freeman had 13 kills and three blocks, Jessica Crates had nine kills, Kylie Vorhees had 16 kills, nine blocks and four aces and Cadence Miller had 27 assists for Elida.

C-R fell 25-18, 25-20, 25-23.

Alli Garmatter had 10 kills and 12 digs, Brooke Shepherd had eight assists and seven digs, Chelcie McVetta had three blocks and Averie Elchert and Faith Bowersox had 10 digs each for Cory-Rawson.

PORT CLINTON — The Wapakoneta doubles teams of MaKenzie Schroeder and Abby Metzger and Bailey Barrett and Elisabeth Good reached the quarterfinals before being eliminated. Teammate Brooke Minnig lost her opening round match.
