COLUMBUS — Van Wert tumbled from the top spot to No. 7 in the Division V Associated Press Ohio High School Football poll released Monday.
The Cougars (4-1), lost to St. Marys, 20-14, Friday night. Van Wert tackles Ottawa-Glandorf this week.
Columbus Grove (5-0) retained its No. 9 spot in Division VI after a big win over Allen East. Coldwater (5-0) remains at No. 1.
In Division VII, Marion Local stays No. 1 and Lima Central Catholic (4-1) winners of four straight, come in at No. 13th.
Boys soccer
Shawnee 3, Wapakoneta 0
Shawnee’s Austin Miller scored twice and had an assist and Sam Tenwalde had a goal. Austin Rosebeck also recorded an assist. Indian keeper Jack Tenwalde made 2 saves to preserve the shutout.
Ottawa-Glandorf 5, Bath 0
Ottawa-Glandorf’s Jeramy Hermiller scored two goals and Isaac Macke, Tyler Hohenbrink and Carson Fuka also scored goals. Macke, Jason Schroeder and Autin Birkemeier all had assists. Titan keeper Dylan Birkemeier had no saves and recorded the shutout. Bath’s Landon Vreeland made 11 saves.
St. Marys 11, Van Wert 0
ST. MARYS — St. Marys’ Joey Vanderhorst scored thre goals and had one assist and Wyat Chapman had a goal and three assists. Cody Birt and David Wermuth each had two goals and Easton Craft, Braden Keller and Bo Hertenstein also scored goals. AJ Dieringer had two assits and Keller and Quinn Holtzapple recorded assist. Rider keeper Cayden Ballweg notched the shutout with a save.
Bluffton 5, Allen East 0
HARROD — Bluffton’s Kaden Basil had two goals and Theo Andreas had a goal and two assists. Ethan Oglesbee and Jack Brauen each scored goals and Jude Spallinger had two assists. Allen East goalie Blake Clum had 10 saves Pirate goalie Eli Staton got the shutout.

Botkins’ Xavier Monnin scored three goals and John Smock and Keegan Thorpe each had two goals.

MIDDLE POINT — Lincolnview’s Jared Kessler accounted for both goals and Jackson Evans was credited with an assist.

HARROD — Leipsic won 13-25, 25-17, 26-24 and 25-22. Leipsic’s Serenity Siefer had 41 assists and Peyton Heitmeyer had 2 aces, 23 digs and 12 kills. Kasey Brough had 15 kills and Joce Hermiller produced 13 digs. Alivia Jones had 2 aces and 6 kills and Marisa Hermiller and Ava Henry each had 6 kills. For Allen East, Soray Jackson had 12 kills and 5 blocks and Kenzie Koontz had 13 kills. Elle Richardson had 4 kills and 3 blocks.

Perry won 25-22, 25-21, 26-28 and 25-20. Perry’s Lexenna Lee had 19 kills, 19 assists, two blocks and 2 aces and Mary Hoersten had 22 kills, 14 assists, 2 blocks and 3 aces. Bryce James had 16 digs and 3 kills and Rhema Pernell had 14 kills and 7 blocks. For Continental, Delaney Bowers had 13 kills, 7 digs and 6 aces and Annika Bowers had 15 digs and an ace. Olivia Logan had 27 assists and 2 aces and Rhaegan Marshall had 11 kills. Macie Cordes had 7 aces and 2 digs and Kenna Okuley had 5 assists.

KENTON — Delphos Jefferson won 25-17, 25-17, 18-25, 25-12. Jefferson’s Josie Megue had 7 kills and Jessa Rostorfer had 9 aces, 6 kills and 15 digs. Gwen Teman had 17 assists.
New Knoxville 3, Anna 0
ANNA — New Knoxville won 25-17, 25-15 and 25-19. For New Knoxville, Carsyn Henschen had 20 kills and Ellie Gabel had 38 assists.

DEFIANCE — Defiance won 26-24, 17-25, 25-20 and 25-15.
O-G ranked No.1
Ottawa-Glandorf is ranked No.1 in Division III in the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association poll released Monday.
The Titans are 10-1 on the season. Coldwater is No. 2 .
In Division IV, New Bremen is the No. 1 team and Leipsic is No. 6 overall. Lincolnview came in tied for No. 13.

Shawnee’s Justin Altenbach and Jack Shivley 39 shared medalist honors. Other team scores were Colin Pasion 43 and Seth Grieshop 44. For Kalida, Ryan Klausing had the team low score with a 41. Other team scores were Ethan Warnecke 44 and Justin Siebeneck 46. Shawnee improves to 10-0 and Kalida falls to 12-1.

Leipsic’s Mason Brandt was the match medalist with a 42. Other Viking scores were Nick Schroeder 46, Luke Spoors 46, Josh Lewis 47, Adam Lammers 47 and Diego Lomeli 57. For Delphos, Cade Carder led Jefferson with a 44. Other Jefferson scores were Brady DuVall 47, Isaac Gallmeier 48, Kaden Slygh 56 and Casey Knippen 57. Spencerville’s Michael Woods led the team with a 49. Other team scores were Tristan Shaw 59, Cooper Chapman 63, Dylan Mertz 63 and Hunter McPheron 64.

DELPHOS — Fort Jennings’ Gavin Schimmoeller was the match medalist with a 42. Other team scores were Braden Knippen 45, Nick Trentman 47, Adam Hoersten 47, Carson Gilchriest 49 and Joseph Klir 52.

New Bremen’s Reece Bussee led the team with a 46. Other Cardinal scores were Drew McNaughton 47, Blake Terpstra 49, Cole Hamberg 51, Ben Wells 55 and Josh Bensman 57.

SIDNEY — New Knoxville’s Max Henschen led the Rangers with a 50 followed by James Albers with a 55.

Women’s Soccer
BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Bluffton University women’s soccer team came up just short in a 2-1 loss to St. Mary’s on a rainy Monday. The Beavers dipped to 2-4 on the season, while SMC improved to 6-1 overall.
St. Mary’s standout Rose Stackhouse came into Bluffton with six goals in six games, but on Monday afternoon she switched roles and became the tablesetter. The senior connected with Julian Bowen twice in the opening stanza as the visitors opened up a 2-0 lead at the break.
Late in the second half, Bluffton pulled out all the stops and nearly sent the match into overtime when Frankie Hamilton (Ashland/Mapleton) connected with fellow junior Taylor Dye (Big Prairie/West Holmes). The home team continued to put pressure on the Belles, but SMC held on for the 2-1 victory on Monday.
Juniors Nina McGinn (Marion/Harding) and Emma White (St. Marys/Memorial) both put up three shots against the Belles. Saint Mary’s finished with five more attempts (17-12), but Bluffton forced six (8-2) more corner kicks. Freshman Brielle Collier (Anna) knocked away six SMC shot attempts.
