KALIDA — Ottoville’s Carter Schnipke was the medalist with a score of 37. Other team scores were Keaton Schnipke 39, Dru Hilvers 44, Michael Turnwald 44, Grant Leis 44 and Jace Langhals 47. Columbus Grove’s Noah Macke led his team with a 44 followed by Nick Wolverton 46, Taylor Schroeder 47, Trey Sautter 47, Isaac Ricker 41 and Bo Birnesser 57. For Fort Jennings, Gavin Schimmoeller had the low team score of 45. Other team scores were Nick Trentman 53, Braden Knippen 60, Carson Gilchriest 65 and Ethan Koester.

BLUFFTON — Leipsic’s Mason Brandt was the match medalist with a 39. Other Viking scores were Luke Spoors 43, Nicke Schroeder 45, Adam Lammers 46, Blaine Schroeder 49 and Diego Lomeli 59. Pandora-Gilboa’s Eli Huffman and Grant Farthing led the Rockets to the win with identical 40s. Other team scores were Sam Norton 45, Owen Huffman 47, Hailey Dysert 48 and Aiden Harris 50.
Pandora-Gilboa evens its Putnam County League record to 2-2 and 5-4 overall and Leipsic goes to 9-12 and 0-3 in the league.

DELPHOS — Delphos St. John’s John Gerker was the match medalist with a 34. Other Blue Jay scores were Collin Feathers 39,Devin Sanders 43, Caden Wright 43, Avery Schulte 46 and Nate Gable 47, For St. Henry, , Ben Romer 37, Sam Koesters 43, Zach Rindler 43, Josh Rindler 45, Ty Post 45 and Luke Ontrop 46.

Elida got singles wins from Ava Long, Kenzie Savill and Taylor Guth and doubles wins from teh team of Eden Troyer and Taylor Crates and the pair of Alayna Mack and Valory Ta.

MILLER CITY — Kalida keeper Kassidy Hipsher made 10 saves and Miller City goalie Liz Otto made 10 saves.
Miller City improves to 3-0-3 and Kalida goes to 1-4-2.

Lima Senior goalie Alli Fronzaglia had 30 saves and Aniya Hollon had one save.

MILLER CITY — Miller City won 25-5, 25-14 and 25-23. Miller City’s Abi Lammers had 18 kills, 12 digs and two aces and Lexi Banks had nine kills. Abi Teders had eight kills and four aces and Grace Pfau had 36 assists and three aces. Tess Oedy had 20 digs and Tori Wenzinger had 14 digs. For Jefferson, Jose McGue had four kills and 10 digs.

Men’s Golf
BLUFFTON — The Bluffton University men’s golf team hit the links for the third time in four days when they traveled to the Military Appreciation Invite at Defiance on Wednesday Bluffton was coming off two days at Ohio Northern on Sunday and Labor Day.
Earning All-Tournament honors after shooting an even par 72 was junior Clay Quellhorst (St. Marys/Memorial) who shot Bluffton’s best score since 2004! He placed 4th at Defiance on Wednesday and it moved him into a tie for 8th on the all-time Bluffton leaderboard.
Senior Nick Offenburger and freshman Brayden Tosi (Springfield/Kenton Ridge) both carded 83’s, while Spencer Daniels (Ashland) contributed with an 85. Justin Metsker (Burbank/Wicliffe) came through with a 90 at Eagle Rock.
Women’s Golf
ADA — Ohio Northern sophomore Grace Honigford (West Chester/Lakota East) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women’s Golf Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 1-7.
A two-time OAC Player of the Week and the OAC Tournament champion last season, Honigford has picked up right where she left off in the spring.
On Monday, she shot a school-record 1-under par 71 to win Medalist honors and lead the Ohio Northern women’s golf team to a victory at the three-team ONU Invitational at Colonial Golfers Club.
Honigford became the first Ohio Northern women’s golfer to break par in tournament action. She broke the previous school record of a 1-over par 73 set in 2008 by Meagan Brennan at the Illinois Wesleyan Spring Fling.
Honigford also earned Medalist honors in Northern’s season-opening victory at the three-team Polar Bear Classic at Colonial Golfers Club on Sunday with a 6-over par 78.
She has now won Medalist honors eight times in 13 tournaments in her career.

Siena Heights won 25-17, 25-17 and 25-22. Racer Logan Thomas had 17 kills and Aubree Ricketts added 15 digs. Aaliyah Alexis added six kills and Casey Kingsland recorded 29 assists.

Garza to speak
about career
DELPHOS — Frank Garza, a Hall of Fame International official, will give a presentation on his career at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at the Delphos Canal Museum, 241 North Main St. The public is invited to attend this free event which will include questions and answers.
A Delphos St. John’s graduate, Garza has been a boxing official for more than 35 years and has officiated matches, including world title bouts, in 17 countries, 20 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. A member of multiple halls of fame, he was named No. 6 among the Top 10 Referees in World by Ring Magazine in 2002 and one of the among the all-time top 50 by World Boxing Council President Jose Sulaiman during the 50th Anniversary WBC Convention in 2012.
