Roundup: Lima Senior defeats LCC in boys soccer

LIMA — Curtis Williamson had two goals and an assist as Lima Senior defeated Lima Central Catholic 6-0 in boy soccer Saturday.

Keegan Halliday had a goal and an assist, Collin Bocian and Aaron Bowsher each had a goal and Caiden Crawford had an assist. Dalton Hahn had six saves and Miguel Flores had a save to secure the shutout in goal. Lima Senior’s other score was an own goal.

Ottawa-Glandorf 4, Bryan 1

BRYAN — Jeramy Hermiller had a goal and two assists, Carson Fuka, Austin Birkemeier and Jaden Oliver each had a goal and Michael Evers and Jordan Schroeder each had an assist for O-G.

Archbold 6, Fort Jennings 0

FORT JENNINGS — The Musketeers fell to 0-5 on the season.

Hardin County Invitational

KENTON — Kenton won the team title with a 182 total followed by Ada (205), Riverdale (225) and Ridgemont (265) at par 36 Memorial Park Golf Course.

Medalist Max Haushalter (40), Grady Baum (45), Noah Ketcham (48) and Stone Sauber (49) combined for the winning total.

LCC Lady Thunderbird Invitational

HARROD — Lima Central Catholic (343) finished third among the 13 that posted team scores at par 71 Colonial Golfers Club. Ursuline Academy won the fifth-score tiebreaker against Centerville after each shot 339 to win the team championship. LCC’s Bridget Mulcahy shot a 77 to finish second behind medalist Sydney Deal from Perrysburg, who fired a 71. Lexington’s Alaina Kathrein (79) was third and Ursuline Academy’s Olivia Zirpoli won a scorecard playoff against Benjamin Logan’s Sydney Wesson for fourth place after each shot 80.

Emma Mayers (86), Carlie VanMeter (90) and Leiahnni Smith (90) contributed to LCC’s team total. Miller City (521) finished 13th with Chelsea Erford’s 98 leading the way.

Continental 1, Delphos Jefferson 1

CONTINENTAL — Goals were scores by Delphos Jefferson’s Alivia Lindeman and Continental’s Marissa Becher on an assist by Jensen Armey.

Delphos St. John’s 7, Lima Senior 0

Myah Boggs had three goals and an assist, Brooke Altenburger had a goal and two assists, Kennedy Sterling had a goal on a penalty kick and an assist and Sara Burnett and Emma Lindeman each had a goal. Evie Vonderwell got the shutout in goal. Lima Senior goalies Ava Sheeter and Aniyah Hollon had 11 and 16 saves respectively.

Ottawa-Glandorf 4, Liberty-Benton 1

GLANDORF — Myka Aldrich had a goal and an assist, Clara Beach, Lily Haselman and Mackenzie Recker each had a single tally, Makenna Siefker and Bri Douglass each had an assist and Abby Warnecke had four saves in goal for O-G.

Bath 1, Kalida 0

BATH TOWNSHIP — Faith Clark scored off a Rachel Clark assist and teammate Julianna Hites got the shutout in goal. Kalida goalie Kassidy Hipsher made 17 saves.

Cory-Rawson 9, Tiffin Columbian 0

RAWSON — Lanie Kempf had four goals, Brynn Reese had three goals and three assists, Briona Thomas had two goals and two assists, Makayla Oman had an assist and Cory-Rawson goalie Evelyn Waltz had five saves.

JoJo Knight had Elida’s goal off an assist by Olivia Green.

Tri match

ARLINGTON — Hardin Northern defeated Ada 25-21, 25-23 and Arlington 25-18, 19-25, 25-23. Ada also fell 25-15, 25-18 to Arlington.

In the Hardin Northern-Ada match, Kennedy Hall had 20 assists, 10 digs and four aces, Eris McCoy had seven kills and Blaire Hipsher had eight digs for Hardin Northern. For Ada, Autumn Andreasen had 17 assists, Courtney Sumner had five kills and 12 digs, Lexi White had 10 digs and Emilee Huffer had five kills.

For Hardin Northern against Arlington, Cadence Coy had four aces and five kills, Bella Wilson had four aces, Katie Good had five blocks, McCoy had six kills, Hall had 21 assists and 10 digs and Kylee Legge had 12 digs.

For Ada against Arlington, Andreasen had nine assists and five digs, Sumner had six kills and nine digs, Huffer had three blocks and Lexi White had 10 digs.

ANNA — Tanner Spangler led Anna with three goals and Abby Stroh made five saves to get the shutout in goal.

Minster goes 2-1

SIDNEY — The Wildcats defeated host Lehman Catholic 25-14, 25-15, fell 25-19, 19-25, 25-23 to Fairlawn and won 23-25, 25-14, 25-23 against Anna. On the day, Savanah Bergman had seven aces, Lily Barhorst had 34 kills and 31 digs and Jayden Clune had 57 assists for Minster.

GREENVILLE — Marion Local (82) finished second behind Legacy Christian (80). New Bremen (87) was fourth, Coldwater (176) was seventh, Fort Recovery (235) was eighth and St. Henry (255) was 10th among the 11 posting team scores.

Marion Local’s Noah Budde (17:11.6) finished second behind Jackson Center’s Kellen Reichert (17:01.3). Fort Recovery’s Trevor Heitkamp (fifth, 17:37), Marion Local’s Troy Stucke (sixth, 17:54.9) and Lucas Broering (eighth, 18:06.2) and New Bremen’s Zach Ashman (ninth, 18:18.4) also were among the top 10.

BOWLING GREEN — Celina (294) finished 11th in the 12 team Division I competition behind first-place Riverside (72). Conor Krogman led Celina with a 37th place finish in 17:56.44. Riverside’s Bryce Weber was the race winner in 16:01.98.

NAPOLEON — Leipsic (119) finished sixth among the seven posting teams socres behind first place Archbold (30). Roman DeLaRosa (19:15.54) led Leipsic with a 16th place finish behind race winner Kenny Miles (17:11.56) of Liberty Center.

GREENVILLE — New Bremen (57) won the team title with Fort Recovery winning the second-place tiebreaker against St. Henry with the better sixth-place finisher after each had a score of 72. Coldwater (135) was fifth and Marion Local (168) was sixth among the nine that posted team scores.

Coldwater’s Haley Alig was the race winner in 19:40.9. New Bremen’s Caroline Whitlatch (third, 21:01.1) and Chloe Homan (sixth, 21:12.7) and St. Henry’s Rileigh Baumer (fifth, 21:12) and Joscie Evers (1oth, 22:20.3) also were in the top 10.

BOWLING GREEN — Celina’s Kaylie Dameron (19:21.31) and Joscelyn Dameron (20:05.64) finished third and seventh respectively behind first-place runner Joanna Kelley (18:41.72) from Ottawa Hills in the Division II & III race. Celina (78) finished sixth overall in the 13-team field behind first place Eastwood (37).

NAPOLEON — Andrea Pfau, who was 11th in 21:17.13, was the top finisher for Miller City, which did not have a team score, behind race winner Hope Oelkrug (18:35.71) of Liberty Center. Lola Wensink was 23rd in 22:34.06 for Leipsic, which also did not post a team score.

VERSAILLES — Minster won the team title with a 336 total at Stillwater Valley. Keegan Bruggeman finished with an 85 to lead Coldwater, which finished sixth with a 364 total.

HOLLAND, Mich. — Ohio Northern and Hope (Michigan) played 110 minutes at Van Andel Stadium, but neither team was able to find the back of the net in what resulted in a scoreless draw in double overtime. ONU goalie John Lombardo made three saves.

The University of Northwestern Ohio fell in double overtime.

Women’s soccer

Emory 3, ONU 1

DANVILLE, Ky. — Following a scoreless first half against Emory (Georgia), Ohio Northern surrendered three goals during the final 45 minutes in a 3-1 loss in the opening round of the Centre (Ky.) Tournament at Amend Field.

The loss dropped the Polar Bears to 0-1-1 on the season while improving the Eagles’ record to 2-0.

ONU’s lone goal of the game came via Alaina Casey, who was assisted by Jill Roberts.
