RAWSON — The Cory-Rawson board of education voted Thursday night to leave the Blanchard Valley Conference for the Northwest Central Conference beginning with the 2023-24 school year.
The NWCC will be losing Lehman Catholic and Riverside when spring sports conclude. Ridgedale and Crestline were included as football members in 2020 and will continue in that roll beginning this year with Ridgedale also becoming a full member in the fall. Leipsic will also be departing the BVC to join the Northwest Conference in the fall. Bloomdale Elmwood will be joining the BVC in 2023-24.

BEREA — Senior Siena Ward scored Ohio Northern’s winning goal as the Polar Bears defeated Baldwin Wallace at Finnie Stadium.
With the win, ONU improves to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while BW drops to 0-1, 0-1.
Junior Kristy Catrine had 1 save in goal to post her second shutout of the season in her second career start.
With 9:14 remaining in the first half, senior Sydney Leshnak sent a free kick to the goal where Ward took a shot that was saved, then scored on her rebound.
In the last 29:25 of the game, the Ohio Northern defense stood tall by only allowing one Baldwin Wallace shot.
The Polar Bears out-shot the Yellow Jackets 15-3.
Ohio Northern will return to action Sunday afternoon with a 2 pm start at Muskingum.

ADA — Junior Seth Gundlach scored the equalizer with 2:22 left in regulation as Ohio Northern posted a 1-1 double overtime tie with Baldwin Wallace on a cold and windy night at Kerscher Stadium.
The Polar Bears and Yellow Jackets are both 0-1-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference.
BW grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 72nd minute on a goal by Nick Surowicz off an assist by Zach Hoover.
Northern tied the match when a long ball by senior Josh Grant was deflected to senior Zach Yoder.
Yoder drove to the left end line and sent a nifty centering pass to a wide-open Gundlach, who calmly beat the BW keeper to the far post with the equalizer.
Ohio Northern had several opportunities in the two overtime periods, out-shooting Baldwin Wallace 7-0, but could get the match-winner.
ONU out-shot BW 20-14 and had a 12-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Junior John Lombardo (Solon) had five saves in goal for the hosts while BW had seven saves in goal.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Sunday with a 2 pm home match against Muskingum at Kerscher Stadium.
