Roundup: Limaland plans tentative 2021 schedule

LIMA — Limaland Motorsports Park is planning to open for the season Friday, May 7. The tentative race schedule for the 2021 season has been posted at www.limaland.com.

Guidelines put forth by the Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, Ohio Department of Health and Allen County Public Health will be closely followed. Currently, 30% occupancy at outdoor sports and entertainment venues is being allowed, including Limaland. Head to limaland.com to view the schedule.

OAC recognition

ADA — Sophomore C.J. Napier and junior Brandon Waugh from Ohio Northern were named All-Ohio Athletic Conference in for the 2020-21 season in voting conducted by the league’s 10 head coaches

Napier was a second team pick and Waugh was an honorable mention selection.

Napier is now a two-time All-Conference honoree as he was named Honorable Mention All-OAC in 2019-20.

This season, he led the team and was third in the league in scoring at 18.7 ppg and was second in the league with a team-best 9.4 rebounds per game average.

Waugh was second on the team in scoring at 13.4 ppg and in rebounding at 5.6 rpg.

He led the team and was third in the OAC with 52 assists and led the team and was second in the league with 25 steals.

The Polar Bears finished the abbreviated 2020-21 season with a 5-7 mark and reached the finals of the OAC Tournament under fifth-year head coach Rich Bensman.
