BASEBALL
Lima: Registration is underway for bus trips to the Washington Nationals against the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday, June 27. The fee is $75 and includes game ticket, round trip transportation, a sandwich and snacks. Ticket must be paid by May 27. A bus trip is also scheduled for the New York Yankees against the Cleveland Indians on Aug. 29. The fee is $75 and the ticket must be paid by July 29. FOOTBALL
Auglaize County: The Raising the Barn 2.0 event with guest speaker Urban Meyer will be at the Piehl Family Arena at he Auglaize County Fairgrounds in Wapakoneta on June 13. The event is sponsored by The New Knoxville School Improvement Committee. Tickets on sale at thebarntwo.com. VIP Tables are – $8,000 ($1,000 per person) and includes a served dinner and photo and autograph opportunities with Urban Meyer. Elite Tables are – $6,000 ($750 per person); Buckeye Tables, – $4,000 ($500 per person), Ranger Tables, – $3,000 ($375 per person, General Tables,- $2,000 ($250 per person). GOLF
Lima: The Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce’s 52nd annual Chamber Golf Classic will be Wednesday, Aug. 5. The locations of the Golf Classic will be Hidden Creek Golf Club and Colonial Golfers Club. Registrations now being accepted. Register a foursome or be placed with a foursome; tickets are $85 per golfer or $340 for a foursome. HORSESHOES
Lima: The Allen County Horseshoe Pitchers, located at 1815 C St., have openings in leagues and doubles. Open doubles begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturdays. Corn hole leagues are forming. LIFEGUARDING
The Lima Family YMCA has started teaching an online lifeguarding class now (18 hours) and then allowing the participants to test out in person in May or June when the YMCA is allowed to reopen. Participants must be 15 years of age to enroll. The fee for the full class is $225 for YMCA members and $250 for non members. Participants will pay a $30 deposit initially to do the online course. The remainder of the fee will be due when they start at the Y with water skills. The deposit will not be refunded if they are not able to complete the swimming skills. When the stay at home order is lifted and the YMCA reopens, there will be an eight hour class which includes water skills, CPR, first aid and the final written tests. The instructor will work with the students to schedule this final class.

Lima: The Lima Sabres have various shooting events. Thursday Trap Practice for Adults/Juniors/Beginners is 4 p.m. weekly. Adult Trap Practice is 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesdays, weather permitting.
