ONU foursome named all-region
ADA — Senior All-American Mark Niles, junior Brock Martin, junior All-American and Anna grad Christiaan Williams and freshman Josh Bever have been named All-North Region in 2019 by D3football.com.
Niles was named to the First Team, Martin and Williams were Second Team picks and Bever was a Third Team honoree.
Niles will now go onto the D3football.com All-America ballot.
Niles was named Second team All-America earlier this year by the American Football Coaches Association.
Women’s basketball
ONU receives vote
ADA — Ohio Northern is received votes in the D3hoops.com Top 25 and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Poll. The Polar Bears garnered 42 points in the D3Hoops.com Top 25, which ranks them 26th, while they collected six votes in the WBCA Coaches Poll, placing them 31st.
Northern is fresh off a come-from-behind 58-57 victory over Mount Union. The Polar Bears closed the game on a 10-0 run to improve to 5-0 on the season and 1-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference play.
ONU travels to Wilmington for a 7 p.m. Wednesday game.

UNOH’s Angstmann named NAIA All-American honorable mention
Outside hitter and St. Marys grad Erika Angstmann of the University of Northwestern Ohio was selected honorable mention as the NAIA All-American teams were announced.
Angstmann finished the season ranked 12th in the NAIA with 517 kills and was 18th in kills per set at 4.04.
