Roundup: Bluffton’s Crossty named 1st team All-HCAC in football

BLUFFTON — The Bluffton University football team saw nine members earn All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference honors Wednesday.

Defensive back Antonio Crossty was a first team selection while five Beavers were selected to the second team. Bluffton also had three members named Honorable Mention All-HCAC.

Crossty led Bluffton with 94 tackles which was good for second in the conference. His 70 solo stops led the conference and tied him with his defensive coordinator (Josh Runda) for the top spot on Bluffton’s single-season list.

Tight end and Wapakoneta grad Kais Chiles, defensive lineman Keith Holmes Jr., offensive lineman Hunter Lacer, receiver Ryan Markoff and linebacker Dylan Shaffer made the second team.

Defensive back Stephan Kosakowski, linebacker/defensive back McKinley Hunter and running back Darian Greeley received honorable mention recognition.

LIMA — Tya Bell had 20 points and For Recovery grad Tori Lennartz and New Knoxville grad Erin Scott each scored 11 for the University of Northwestern Ohio (1-7, 0-3 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference). Bell also had eight rebounds.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Bath grad Andrew Renner had 21 points and eight rebounds, and Dezman Brown scored 13 for Bluffton (1-2).
